At the end of the first bag, the ground floor is still only partially complete, though it includes all of its interior detail. The LEGO designers have made extensive use of the relatively new rounded 1×2 plate throughout the building, starting with the columns on either side of the door on the left side of the structure. The fact it's a corner building, with a garage forecourt in front, has reduced the surface area of the actual building considerably but nevertheless I feel that what space there is has been put to good use. Perhaps the interior is not as detailed as in other modulars but I think what's been provided is adequate. Stairs on the second floor lead to a hatch to provide access to the roof for sunbathing and gardening.

the toilet, of course, which has a old-fashioned high wall-mounted cistern. Presumably the man washes himself in the kitchen sink given there's no shower.The front hood pops off to reveal an engine, so that the mechanics have something to work on in their garage. I also particularly like the muted Octan colours of green and red used for the garage which gives it an old-school feel. The colour palette changes now to dark orange and sand blue for construction of the first and second floors.

New-for-January-2019 decorated elements include an animal clinic window, service station sign and a printed octane gas pump. Roll up the door to access Jo's vehicle workshop, complete with tire mounter and working vehicle lift.

Verdict

The overall floor plan of the top story (bag group 5) is essentially identical to the middle story with the vet’s office, minus the central dividing wall perpendicular to the front wall. This makes the top floor fairly wide open, focused more on the interior details to which we’ll return later in this review. It becomes apparent later during construction: it fits on to the underneath of a 4x4 round plate so is effectively a turntable bottom. It's used under the petrol pump island. The wall turns the corner by having a 1×1 round column as the corner, with the 1×2 rounded plates extending from the column into each connecting wall.
