Differing from his previous artistry of anything acoustic, he wanted to "make a more intimate sounding record" and "explore the different ranges of my voice, you know, get to do a bit more than falsetto stuff". We carry a broad range of CDs and vinyl (7”/12” singles and LPs) and specialise in indie, alternative, rock, punk, metal plus a few other genres. As other reviewers have mentioned, the songs on this album are another set of classic Charlie Simpson tunes. To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average.

Hot on the heels of a sold out show at London’s O2 Kentish Town Forum, Charlie is delighted to announce a brand new solo album ‘Hope Is A Drug’. With an uncompromising approach to creating truly honest music, 2022 is set to be a hugely exciting chapter for one of the UKs most celebrated voices. The majority of the album was self-produced at Charlie’s own recording studio, built from scratch during the global lockdown. It's fascinating how the human psyche has the endless capacity for optimism as a mechanism for overcoming adversity. We don’t share your credit card details with third-party sellers, and we don’t sell your information to others. Hope Is a Drug is preceded by the singles “I See You,” “Blameless,” “One of Us,” and “All the Best”. The record is considered “relationship driven” and Simpson did the majority of the production side, building his own recording studio. The way he uses lyrics and his own production techniques, harmonising with his own voice always draws me into his music.

Two years later we made the move to our present address, 35 The Headrow, where we have remained ever since. In an exclusive interview with NME, he revealed that he "started writing it in 2019" and wanted to be "more stripped-back and showed my more vulnerable side". And although they convey a sense of sadness and regret in places, ultimately they are utterly uplifting and heartwarming. Featuring the singles ‘I See You’, ‘Blameless’, ‘One Of Us’ and ‘All the Best’, the record serves as the follow up to 2015’s ‘Little Hands’ and arrives a mere few months after the runaway success of Simpson’s sold out show at London’s O2 Kentish Town Forum last November, where he debuted some of the albums material, live for the first time. As people around the world continue to navigate their way through the complexities of everyday life post the darkness of 2020 and 2021, Charlie Simpson provides fans with an optimistic ray of light today (April 22nd) in the form of his fourth studio album, ‘Hope Is A Drug’.He is the recipient of two BRIT Awards, has performed to sold out arenas and headlined festivals across the UK.

Commenting on the premise and overall message of the album, the Busted and Fightstar says: “Everyone has been touched by the feeling of hope. With intimate ballads such as ‘I See You’ and uptempo pop songs such as ‘Blameless’ and the upcoming ‘All The Best’, the album showcases an artist confidently pushing the boundaries of a remarkable 20 year career.Hailing from Suffolk, Charlie Simpson began his musical career in 2001, gaining commercial and critical success with Busted and Fightstar before going solo.

All tickets will remain valid and of course if the the new dates no longer work for you, you will be entitled to a full refund. The new album will now be released on April 15th, and as with all touring cycles, naturally I want you to have the new album before my upcoming shows, so the tour has been pushed back to May, with the exception of both London shows remaining on April 18 and 19. The fourth studio album by Charlie Simpson, the record was announced on November 16, 2021, along with its tour. It’s fascinating how the human psyche has the endless capacity for optimism as a mechanism for overcoming adversity.I have found the words to be more direct than on his other albums, easier to connect with and find a message in that means something to yourself, as well as to Charlie. Promising audiences a night they won’t forget, the ‘Parachutes’ singer tells fans he plans to play a mix of new songs and old favourites, as well teasing some surprise on-stage moments too! A majority of the tracks were written on the piano, and he purposefully avoided the guitar in favour of a different instrument. His sound has evolved slightly but still very much recognisable from his previous three solo albums.
