Not sure whether this is the right film for your purpose? We offer free 10cm x 10cm samples. The pictures depicting the film are only for illustration purposes, so a sample is recommended to make an educated choice. Thoroughly spray and soak the glass surface AND the adhesive side of the film with the water mixture. Wetter is better! There is no such thing as too much water. The water will allow you to easily apply and reposition the film before you squeegee—and any excess water will evaporate as the film fully adheres. Avoid cleaning the material for the first 30 days, this will allow the film to completely cure to the glass. With the right preparation and installation, static cling Decorative Films are a fast and easy way to transform a room. But don’t skip steps or skimp on tools! For a beautiful and resilient end result, take your time, measure carefully, wet thoroughly and squeegee the entire surface. Before you get started… Facing the adhesive side of the film to the glass, place the top edge of the material onto the top edge of the glass and position accordingly, the washing up liquid should allow you to move the material on the glass.

Starting from the Middle/Top, with your professional squeegee, push the water out towards the edges, and then down the middle with a liberal amount of force. This should create a T shape which creates a seal. (Note: If you encounter resistance between the film and squeegee, simply apply more of the application fluid.) With the exception of films specifically labeled and made for exterior application, always install film on the interior of a window. Film applied to the exterior will easily fail due to exposure to the elements.Thoroughly spray and soak the glass surface AND the static side of the film with the water mixture. Wetter is better! There is no such thing as too much water. The water will allow you to easily apply and reposition the film before you squeegee—and any excess water will evaporate after the film fully clings. Once happy with the positioning and the film is flat to the glass, spray the non-adhesive side of the glass film with the installation fluid. This designer-look is easier than ever to achieve at home, thanks to Purlfrost’s easy application. Once your made-to-measure reeded glass film arrives, spray the window and film with water and apply, making sure to smooth out any air bubbles and wrinkles – it’s as simple as that. The possibilities are endless; from internal and external windows to kitchen cabinets, shower screen through to a freestanding cupboard or even a glass coffee table.

Remove the protective liner to expose the adhesive layer. (It may help to place two pieces of masking tape either side and pull apart to separate) If you are applying a solar or safety film, apply as much pressure as possible to remove the water. You may need a specialist squeegee for this process. Tools: Scissors, Tape Measure, Razor Knife, Ruler, Plastic Card Squeegee, Spray Bottle, and Paper Towel. Give yourself enough space to work. You will need enough flat surface to lay out the film for measuring, cutting, marking and prep. Do not run a fan near the film or glass surface during installation. This can cause dust and debris to blow onto your film and become trapped. StepsBefore you do any actual cutting, you should consider where to place the seam on the window. You will usually have options when deciding: do you want it vertical or horizontal? Higher or lower? It may depend on the width of the roll you are working with, but generally you’ll want to place it where it is least noticeable. If you have tall windows, placing it at the top will make it harder to see. If it is darker at the bottom or people tend to look toward the top more often, then placing it at the bottom will be the best method. With the right preparation and installation, Decorative Films are a fast and easy way to transform a room. But don’t skip steps or skimp on tools! For a beautiful and resilient end result, take your time, measure carefully, wet thoroughly and squeegee the entire surface. Before you get started… Once you are happy with the positioning of your film, liberally spray the surface of the film. This will act as a lubricant for your squeegee or felt edged tool.

Water bubbles are a factor in window filming that can not be avoided. Depending on the tools and pressure applied, you may remove up to 95% of the application fluid. The remaining 5% due to surface tension will form small bubbles and if left alone, will completely dry. This process normally takes no longer than 30 days but can take up to 60 days depending on the quality of installation. Use your Green Card Squeegee wrapped in a non-abrasive cloth to remove any remaining bubbles, always using the shortest path to the edge. Once trimmed, continue to remove the water, working from the centre seal outwards in overlapping motions with your Professional Squeegee. This ensures the maximum removal of application fluid.Place the Green Card Squeegee on the film and against the edge of the glass, then place the blade of your knife against this. This will guide your knife and protect your window frames and gaskets. Note: Making a diagonal cut between the corner of the glass and excess film prevents creasing the corner of the material while trimming. A very small clear borer should be visible between the edge of the film and the frame. This is normal and is integral to the installation process as it allows the removal of the water. Warranty does not cover any damage to film during installation or any issues resulting from the improper installation of films. The material should be sealed in place, you can then with your Green Card Squeegee, and Snap off Knife, trim the film to the shape of the window. Using a pair of sharp scissors, cut the material roughly to size (We recommend 20mm extra on the Width and Height to allow the material to be cut to the shape of the glass) It is also advisable to make sure the Top of your film is straight and in line/square with any pattern.
