It’s not terribly forward-thinking, offering a braided cable with only 3.5mm split cables and no inline remote, but put up with that and you get a fantastic stereo spread and long-term comfort thanks to a nifty adjustable headband tension system. Known for a long time for its Hi-Fi headphones, Sennheiser has also distinguished itself with the general public in the world of video games. The German brand broke through with its Game Zero and Game One gaming headsets, then confirmed its expertise five years later with its GSP line. The bottom edge of the left earcup holds the micro USB port for charging, along with a status LED and a Bluetooth pairing slider. The upside, though, is comfort: both the headband and the earcups sit on an average-sized head without distress, and the width of the band allows even larger-headed players (like the reviewer) to enjoy lengthy sessions without discomfort. If you don’t mind faux leather, the earcups are perfectly functional, and the way they operate and noise-cancelling muffs, too, should be lauded. Like its wired companions, the GSP 670 has an atypical and imposing design. The headset is made mostly of plastic parts, except for the metal hinges that connect the ear cups to the headband. In terms of comfort, the GSP 670 features plush earpads and an adjustable headband, ensuring a comfortable fit for long gaming sessions. The headset also has intuitive controls, allowing users to adjust the volume and other settings easily. The battery life of the GSP 670 provides up to 20 hours of playtime, ensuring extended use without the need for frequent recharging. As we know, Sennheiser does not like to do things like everyone else. The ergonomics of this model prove it once again. Interaction with the headphones goes through a switch, a button and two potentiometers.

Price comparison

Long, drawn-out gaming sessions aren’t a hassle at all with these thanks to their generously padded, well-spaced ear cups and they present an overall build that’s solid and definitely built to last. The microphone of the GSP 670 fulfills its mission brilliantly and is even placed as a reference among wireless headsets. We just can’t find anything to complain about. The signal is powerful, clean and perfectly balanced. The first two models to come out, the GSP 600 and GSP 500, have recently been joined by a more affordable version (GSP 300), then by a wireless model, the GSP 670, which we are testing today. When it comes to sound quality, you’ll struggle to find a more balanced wireless gaming headset than the Sennheiser GSP 670. The GSP 670 can work through three different types of connections. The included wireless USB dongle lets you listen and talk through your PC or PlayStation 4. You can also connect the headset directly to either device with the included USB-to-micro-USB cable (which is fine for PCs, but might be a bit short to reach your PS4 from the couch). Finally, you can use Bluetooth to connect the headset to your phone or any other Bluetooth device. The headset doesn't have a 3.5mm connection option.

On that note, the presentation of teammates' voice audio is also great in the GSP 500s and better than the 300s overall - voices can be difficult for gaming headsets to master, but the GSP 500 is one of the best Sennheiser gaming headsets for this.

Thanks to Sennheiser’s unparalleled record when it comes to aural engineering, the headset is a dream to use in audio-rich games.
