Description

One of the differences from the BioniX P120 A-RGB that is also good to notice when judging the results is the smaller offset of the rotor from the frame.

To achieve comparable results to larger cross-section models, there needs to be higher rpms and with them higher noise levels, but as long as you accept this, and you don’t really have much choice due to the size constraints, the new P8 Max fan seems like an attractive option. Also, this version of the P12 supports PWM sharing technology (PST) so that the fan speed of the P12 PWM PST can be synchronized with other fans. The premium quality of the dual ball bearing allows 24/7 continuous operation without compromising performance.

Noctua often has complaints about the PWM signal quality of third party devices and states that it can be misinterpreted at lower speeds.Due to a sinus-magnetizing the new motor only creates about 5 % of the vibration from the commutation of a regular DC motor without a filter.

The motor is powered by a Neodym-Iron-Boron-Magnet ring of the newest generation, which allows the new P12 PWM PST to run much more efficiently than its predecessors. Of course, if we are talking about NF-A12x25 with DC control, it changes the situation – Noctua has this fan optimized for PWM, with linear power supply it is worse especially at low/starting speeds. The side effect is that the blade geometry of the BioniX P120 A-RGB does not achieve the same pronounced tonal peaks as the P12.Due to sinus-magnetizing the new motor only creates about 5 % of the vibration from the commutation of a regular DC motor without a filter. The operating noise of the newly developed ARCTIC motor is barely perceptible even at the lowest speed. The leading edges of the P12 are significantly curved so that the air streams have a cylindrical trajectory and more effectively avoid contact with the frame.Additionally, the 120 mm versions of the new P-fans can be easily mounted to existing Freezer 32 and Freezer 33 models.
