The model that I’ve been testing is the 100W, a wearable version that has a 100 cm (39”) circumference and which weighs 2 kg (4 lb).

Like all frame mounts, they’re quite ugly, and you always end up with stray bits of Velcro flapping about! With the new Litelok Core range, not only does it carry a Sold Secure Gold rating, but its closest competitors are much heavier!Once the Litelok Core has been released to the market, I’ll test it fully and write a comprehensive review. But here are my first impressions after using the pre-production model for a few days... 1. It’s very secure The Sold Secure Diamond Bike rating is for “very high value bicycles and e-bikes”. ART 3/5 Stars is for “scooters and mopeds”.

Litelok (there's a clue in the name), are a company whose entire reason for existence up until now has been based on trying to solve this conundrum. And they have had some success already. And this makes most of them very difficult to carry. So the fact that the Litelok Core, (which is also reasonably heavy and bulky), can be carried around so easily and comfortably is a big bonus for me. Is the Litelok Core easy to use? The mountable version is called Flexi-O. It’s 75cm long and is said to be universally designed to fit any style of bike or e-bike. “The rubberised fastenings won’t damage your frame and attaches without the need for additional tools,” says the brand. The keyhole of the Litelok Core has a very snug fitting rubber cover that you slide across to protect the mechanism from the weather. This is one of the better covers I’ve seen, it feels quite robust, and the tight fit should genuinely protect the mechanism. I’ve previously tested the Litelok Gold Original and the Litelok Silver wearable. However, I’ve never used the Litelok Gold Wearable which seems to be the closest in terms of form and function to the Core. So there were a few surprises.I don’t have to take a crowbar or a giant set of cable cutters to the Core to know this. Sold Secure have already done it and they’ve awarded the Core a Diamond rating. This puts it in rarefied company. The second are the stowage straps. Because bikes come in all shapes and sizes, these too are adjustable with Velcro closings. They also feature a rubberised thread band to stop it moving around, and also protects your frame. They've thought of everything! How does the Litelok Core compare to its competitors? The Litelok Core is one of the very first products to have achieved the new Sold Secure Diamond rating. It achieves this through its construction and innovative use of multiple materials. Unfortunately, the 100W was slightly too big for me to wear around my waist, so I couldn't test that, but the wearable version will come in three different sizes, which means you should be able to find one that does fit!

The cable cutters he’s using are quite specialist. It’s highly unlikely a thief would be carrying these, unless they’re specifically targeting Liteloks (which again is unlikely).
