We read it last night for the first time (reward for our reward rocket chart as per my other reviews), and had a giggle. Jim Field’s hilarious and boldly-coloured illustrations make for a striking collection of prints, perfect for nurseries or bedrooms. The only thing I'd say, is as an adult, these are now a bit "samey", but they are helping the boy with his phonics and rhymes so. the fifth title from the brilliant Oi series created by Kes Gray and Jim Field, which now totals seven books and has sold over one million copies. Using the strange names and often stranger appearance of animals, this funny, rhyming, read-aloud picture book, will amuse both children and parents and perhaps inspired a few poets in the making.

Rhyming is such a hard concept for young children to get so this book is a great chance to learn and have loads of fun. He sat reading aloud and laughing at some of the rhymes - he reads it over and over and gets so much enjoyment for it. Loved by children and parents, the books have won numerous awards, including the Laugh Out Loud Picture Book Award, and been shortlisted for many more!
