Description

Our Vortex500 works in exactly the same way as the Vortex300, adding a larger collection capacity and the ability to be installed on larger pipework too, making it ideal for heat pump systems. For large or heavily fouled commercial systems, the cleaning period may have to be extended and the cleaning temperature elevated.

The horizontal, front facing filter is designed to be fitted in the most restrictive of spaces whilst delivering fantastic debris capture. For details of how to dose using the Rapid-Dose format of this product, please watch the Rapid-Dose video. X800 Fast Acting Cleanershould be circulated, preferably at normal operating temperature, with all valves open and the pump turned to maximum flow for a minimum period of 3 hours or until satisfactory performance is restored. To clean an older system in accordance with BS 7593, this product should be circulated (preferably at normal operating temperature, with all valves open and the pump turned to maximum flow) for a minimum period of 2 hours or until satisfactory performance is restored. Use in conjunction with a powerflushing device to achieve a more rapid clean. When using concentrate gel, add directly to the heating system either via a radiator air bleed valve, or via the fill loop using the appropriate adaptor and a suitable caulk gun.

Circulating debris in central heating systems can cause wear and premature failure of pumps, valves and heat exchangers. Sentinel's filters are the perfect filter solution to protect the system against magnetic debris. Sentinel X100 Inhibitor provides heavy-duty protection for commercial heating systems and closed cooling systems against limescale and corrosion. These two main culprits of commercial heating inefficiency can cause cold spots in the system, boiler inefficiency, noisy operation and other problems including system breakdown. It is recommended thatX800 Fast Acting Cleaneris used in accordance with standard cleaning and commissioning protocols such as BSRIA Guide “Pre-Commission Cleaning of Pipework Systems”. Sealed Systems: If the system is empty, add to any convenient point before filling. If full, use a Sentinel Dosing Vessel to inject via the filling loop or other access point. The circulation pump of the system can be used to circulate the cleaning solution; however equipment which provides a more rapid circulation can provide a more effective clean. When using an external cleaning rig, the product can be dosed directly to the buffer tank of the rig (follow equipment manufacturer’s instructions).

We recommend that a filter is installed on all systems, in conjunction with a cleaning of the system, to capture any existing debris. Our range of cleaners is comprehensive and can be choosed based on the scenario that presents itself. See our cleaners and system cleaning-related products here. litre, 1 300ml aerosol or 1 275ml tube of Sentinel X400 High Performance Cleaner is sufficient to treat a typical domestic system of up to 10 radiators. Larger systems should be dosed with twice this amount. Sentinel X800 Fast Acting Cleaner eliminates magnetite and limescale deposits from heat exchangers, radiators, underflor heating floors and pipework. It restores more uniform distribution of heat in existing installations, for a better heated home and reduced energy bills. Where systems are badly fouled, we recommend a longer circulation period (approximately 3-4 weeks). The product is not aggressive and can be safely left in the system for extended periods.

The associated ACOP goes on to explain that the ‘temperature in workrooms should normally be at least 16 degrees Celsius unless much of the work involves severe physical effort in which case the temperature should be at least 13 degrees Celsius.’ A filter will help capture debris, in a collection chamber, and hold it there until the chamber can be emptied. Its formulation also contains agents to ensure the protection of system metals against corrosion during the cleaning as well as preparing the installation for the addition of Sentinel X100 Inhibitor.

Ideally, on the return pipe leading to a boiler. This is to stop debris entering the boiler and damaging it. Sentinel X800 Fast Acting Cleaner should be used as a 1% solution in mains water to remove typical levels of deposits of iron oxide and calcium carbonate. Where systems are badly fouled, a higher concentration (up to 10%) is recommended. After cleaning, the system should be drained and flushed until the water runs clear. On refilling, the system should be treated with Sentinel X100 Inhibitor or Sentinel X500 Inhibited Antifreeze. Vortex250 units feature an integrated isolation valve, a voiding the need for a strip down service; and a front-facing magnet, ensuring that where space is at a premium, no further space is required as the magnet can simply be removed at the front. To clean an older system in accordance with BS 7593 it is recommended that this product is used withpowerflushing equipment. In this scenario, administer Sentinel X800 Fast Acting Cleaner via thepowerflushing equipment, following theequipment manufacturer's instructions. Alternatively, circulate theproduct (preferably at normal operating temperature, with all valves open and the pump turned tomaximum flow) for a minimum period of 1 hour or until satisfactory performance is restored.

Solutions

Sentinel's range of filters is crafted to fit any situation. The filters we offerrange from ultra-compact, where space is at a premium, through the compact Vortex300 and the larger Vortex500, which is also suitable for heat pump installations. Maintaining system health is essential for ensuring that it runs both reliably and in an energy-efficient way, working towards Carbon Reduction Commitment goals whilst keeping employees or patrons comfortable.
