Apparently, this was the first reusable coffee cup made from old paper coffee cups, which gives it a nice touch of cyclicity. The other slight downside to the bottle is that although the plant-based material is temperature resistant and has some form of insulation, it’s not as effective as the double walled insulation in the other stainless steel bottles. Chilly’s bottles are hand wash only, which is likely another reason why the silicone base has stayed on for so long with minimal glue left. The classic stainless steel design is scratch resistant and apparently immune to dents - I’ve thrown it around enough to know.
It makes a lovely gift and we love that - despite the temperature of your brew remaining hot - your hands will never burn. This could be from accidental tooth bumps, but it’s also possible that it got damaged during cleaning. Because the series 2 has a couple extra components (thanks to its new closing lid mechanism) this brings me on to its first downfall; cleaning. You might want to turn to this handy water bottle if you’ve got any travelling planned, since it naturally filters water using charcoal sticks.
