About this deal

Expresso love is single handedly the most underrated track in the history of tracks, the piano harmonies and lyrics are fantastic, check the first b-side out, trust me, mate.

Making Movies was later certified platinum in the United States and double-platinum in the United Kingdom by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) and the British Phonographic Industry (BPI) respectively. The lengthy but wonderful "Tunnel of love" has been a stage favorite for a long time, listen to the wonderful repeating 'Girl you look so pretty to me' chorus halfway through. The three awesome songs are all on side one, the best of which is "Romeo and Juliet" (one of the rare songs that I used to listen to and get watery-eyed after the first chorus) although "Tunnel of Love" is pretty perfect too. With the E-street band's Roy Bittan joining on keyboards the band began to move away from the simple bluesy rock of the first 2 albums.Their music was becoming more complex and so was Mark Knopfler's songwriting: 4 of the album's 7 tracks are running over 5 minutes. It appears mine was done at the Toronto plant and have seen decent pressings from there on occasion. Mark Knopfler's songwriting took a significant leap on "Making Movies" as if it were time to try more innovative techniques following two albums. David appears on video playing "Solid Rock" and "Les Boys" live in concert, but these performances preceded the recording. The romanticism of Bittan's piano, precision timekeeping of drummer Pick Withers, and steady roll of bassist John Illsley come across with similar potency, scale, and verve.

Side two of the vinyl disc is a bit of a letdown following three strong tracks but the instrumentation does make up for that shortcoming. Four songs were recorded during the sessions but not released on the album: "Making Movies," "Suicide Towers," " Twisting by the Pool" and "Sucker for Punishment. Vote up content that is on-topic, within the rules/guidelines, and will likely stay relevant long-term. Rolling Stone ranked Making Movies number 52 in their survey of the 100 Best Albums of the Eighties.Everything sounds the same at a certain point, all of these songs start off good but trail off into nothing of note.
