If you read my previous review on it, you would know I advised against using the onboard WiFi because it gave terrible performance. It supports DLNA/UPnP, Roon endpoint, Squeezebox and LMS, and much more, even your 3D printer with OctoPrint. With its two internal clocks, the DigiOne interface offers a remarkably clear signal, as evidenced by its extremely low jitter rate of 0.

PiCorePlayer (LMS) can be configured to act as both a player and LMS server and LMS supports Deezer. If unsuccessful the nice thing is you can just go back and forth between platforms by changing cards. Quite the result for such an affordable rig: a Raspberry Pi 3, JustBoom Digi HAT, custom case, cables and microSD card, all for a jot over a hundred quid. For me, its about making sure that the signal I start with is the best I can afford while being still practical and getting value for money.I’ve never been a huge fan of S/PDIF interface, and I always preferred to use good old USB or I2S when it comes to PI. I, however, do understand less the advantage of galvanic isolation with S/PDIF, but this is just my lack of knowledge.Although if you do go down the LMS route make sure to enable the Material Skin plugin or else it will look terribly dated. So, any improvement that manifests would be to do with timing of the digital signals and to accurately represent the zeros and ones. If I had to give the Allo DigiOne Signature personality traits, I would think of it as gentle, confident, mature, accurate/calculated, cool and quiet . In our previous HAT-related post, we heard how the JustBoom Digi HAT’s coaxial output pulls up alongside the AURALiC Aries Mini’s for a qualitative stalemate. I have also used Volumio in the past, which works like a Squeezebox, supports DLNA/UPnP, and has a rich web-based user interface.
