Later, Cini Boeri began working with Marco Zanuso, becoming one of the most important Italian designers of the second half of the 20th century. The Blade Runner whisky glass is made from hand blown crystal glass by Arnolfo di Cambio, the original Italian company who has been making them since 1974. The design of this first collection is inspired by the “Karl Signature” motif represented by monochromatic tone-on-tone finishes that match the latest fashion trends of the season. In 1979, she won a Compasso D’Oro and in 2008 she also won a Lifetime Achievement Award from the Italian Cultural Institute of Los Angeles. Ridley and others loved the bottle so much that they wanted a few copies made for production so about a dozen vacuum-formed copies were made.
