About this deal

Off they go into town, where they invade an old lady's living room - it's as well that she was snoozing or she might have been rather shocked at what was happening with the remote control. While the frogs stayed outside of the man’s house, the frogs actually went inside of the woman’s living room.

Tuesday” is an excellent book about the power of using one’s imagination as magic is the main theme here and this book will surely be an instant treat to children who love books dealing with adventure and imagination. It’s perhaps more Scooby Doo than Agatha Christie, but that’s what makes it really rather wonderful. For a picture book that has relatively few or no words at all, the illustrations are the only thing that drives the story.

When the everyday play stopped, he would follow his imaginary playmates into the pages of books, wandering among dinosaurs in the World Book Encyclopedia. David Wiesner’s classic picture book Tuesday is a delight, and inspiration for creativity from preschool to graduate school. The colour palettes in those were so intensely saturated, where now there’s a tendency to go dark, greyscale, and faded. To give us a clear place to start our visual tour, Wiesner makes the old woman the focal point and makes her the brightest thing in it. Wiesner lives with his wife and their son and daughter in the Philadelphia area, where he continues to create dreamlike and inventive images for books.

He never ceases to amaze me and this book is such a beautiful and magical addition to our collection. In time, the young Wiesner began exploring the history of art, delving into the Renaissance at first — Michelangelo, Dürer, and da Vinci — then moving on to such surrealists as Magritte, de Chirico, and Dalí.This unique and eccentric story allows for perfect opportunities for prediction and speculation during discussion. It is a great resource to encourage joint interest, vocabulary, sequenced language, making inferences and engaging in discussion. Following that line up we follow a cluster of frogs from the top of the TV over to the lampshade, (3). The next setting is in a man’s house late at night, then back outside where they continuing to fly some more.
