About this deal

This opportunistic new-era ideals and their consequent releases make me wonder where the fuck are we going.

I find myself grabbing my bottle and sniffing the atomizer just to smell it again because its so addictive. Projection and longevity are below average for me but I dont CAAAARE (shouts while saying that) I'll just put on more and carry some traveler sprayer or something. Once upon a time a greedy family of L'Oreal, cannibalizing everything that the genius of YSL had raised on the field of haute parfumerie, during the shorts breaks between dancing on the bones of Opium and Kouros, somehow went wrong and elaborated the perfume of beauty, strength and appeal, La Nuit de l'Homme. I don't understand why people rated it so low, as this and Le Parfum are two of the best from La Nuit line.Think I gave myself a little bit of a headache, but my sister really liked it because she could smell it. Funny thing is…to me, this smells more like L’Homme than La Nuit de l’homme…this smells like a darker or intenser version of L’Homme…. During this stage, the fresh lavender from the opening is still in the same level as the cardamon but… you’ll notice it being slowly crushed into a powder form.

Bought this yesterday, i've only used it once but it really doesn't last on me, first minutes are astonishing and with a lot of projection, but as minutes (or hours) passes, it really becomes a skin scent. There's a smidgen of creaminess and a hint of powder as it dries down, but for the most part it's super cloying and obnoxious. Now, the opening is dominated by the spicy scent of cardamom and the fresh citrusy scent of bergamot.

To quote my favorite streamer Aaron Terence Hughes, perfumes like this should be treated as a scam and nothing else. It’s not a performance beast, but when something smells this good it feels like a privilege to be able to bless my nostrils with the smell at all. The Creed Aventus message boards all harp on how old bottles of aventus were darker and smokier and longer lasting and all the new ones are much brighter and weaker. I think this just smells awesome, the only thing I don’t like is that it doesn’t seem like a beast mode fragrance that’s going to stick around for a long while and I do like longevity in my fragrances even though I don’t absolutely require it. The bottle I have was purchased around 2012, so I'm not sure what run or batch of the fragrance it is, but I get pretty good longevity out of it, maybe projecting for 4 or 5 hours and then it becomes a pleasant skin scent.

Top note is Cardamom; middle notes are Lavender, Virginia Cedar and Bergamot; base notes are Vetiver and Caraway. It's not my favorite scent anymore but it's still worth owning, it's a pity if the new batches of it are as weak as everyone seems to say it is.I wish they bumped up the performance on this, as it lasts 4 hours on my skin and dies out fast to a skin scent. While we strive to provide accurate and helpful information, we cannot guarantee the complete accuracy or reliability of the AI-generated pros and cons. I've heard some people say that this perfume is very popular with women, but I personally don't like it very much. As an intermediate level fragrance collector, I own, have owned and smelled an obscene amount of fragrances and it is very rarely that I am caught off-guard by a fragrance, especially one of designer sensibilities. Regardless, if you take into consideration the fact that it does not have good performance, it does what it needs to do.
