This review will be about Talisman Kingdom hearts, but we also have Talisman Harry Potter waiting for us that will follow in a next review. Instead of characters like 'The Wizard' or 'The Orc', you control Riku, Sora, and even King Mickey on your journey around the board. Yes the inner circle is more challenging, but once you reach the middle, you close the gap no matter your roll, defeating the heartless. Talisman: Kingdom Hearts is a delightful board game and fans of Kingdom Hearts will find a lot to love. It’s very expensive, which would be justified if there weren’t so many typos/missed rules etc from the instructions! Even better, the rulebook does go to the bother of including some extra rules that make the game feel a bit more like the original Talisman in case you don't own a copy of the original game yet.

Everything fits seamlessly and you get to tell the sort of zany story that is at the heart of Kingdom Hearts. The inner circle being the most challenging circle, you had to depend either on a lot of luck, or a good build character. I will eventually be able to play with all of the different characters to experience their own unique special abilities and select a character with whom I most relate.

I have always said that I prefer my games to have great art and a great theme before I start to care about mechanics and other attributes. Combat is pretty slick and easy in the game: the player has a base Strength or Magic stat on their dials to which is added the result of a die roll. Talisman is excruciatingly random yet epic, chaotic yet narrative, and perhaps the perfect game engine for a Kingdom Hearts board game. There is so much information and artwork on the board, and also may have tokens set upon it to be linked to cards on the table.

Includes memorable locations such as Never Land and Traverse Town as well Munny-themed currency and Gummi Paths!Glad I bought it as it’s gorgeous and the board is huge and well detailed in the images, just don’t imagine I’ll be playing it often as it takes a lot of learning and even then I’ve no idea if I’m playing it correctly. Cards in the outer regions are placed near the space, cards from the middle region receive a matching adventure icon on the space and the card, this helps you track what cards belong to which spaces.
