About this deal

There we learn that a radio broadcast indicates an army brigade may have a solution for the virus, so after a period of recuperation at Frank’s flat, the gang heads north toward Manchester.

Overview - Hailed as the most frightening film since The Exorcist, acclaimed director Danny Boyle's groundbreaking take on zombie horror. What elevates this feature beyond the norm is that both galleries include commentary from director Danny Boyle.First off, directionality is slightly off in several scenes, and the design occasionally places rear sounds into all the channels for an artificially increased effect. As he leaves the hospital, he discovers London is completely deserted and rife with signs of catastrophe. The video presentation suffers, but not because of the transfer that Fox has made, and in my opinion, I think it's the best it will ever look. The film’s occasional action sequences mostly work well, but its many quieter bits seem less compelling.

The virus can be transmitted in one drop of blood and manifests itself within seconds, infecting its victims with a zombie-like state of murderous rage. Please presume that any reference to a UV/digital copy will not be applicable, as this is a used item. Much has been made of the fact that Boyle made the decision to have his zombies run, where traditionally they shambled. I saw this movie near the second film's release, only hearing about the series when the second one came out.

All things considered, if you already own this one on DVD, you might want to rent this Blu-ray before making a purchase decision. But in this case, the destruction has been externalized, turned outwards back on the society that created it.

This film isn't exactly demo material but then everytime I fire up an 80s paramount catalogue title I know I'm in for disappointment and no doubt the forthcoming Beverley Hills Cop steelbook will be no different. It's one of those cases where, the better the movie is presented (ie high-definition) the worse it looks. Although I found the video transfer problematic, to my delight, the audio package steps up its game considerably, especially given the underwhelming mix that accompanied the standard-def DVD.Shocked, Jim attempts to escape with Selena and Hannah, but is captured by the soldiers, along with Sergeant Farrell (Stuart McQuarrie), who disagrees with the Major's plan. Director Danny Boyle ('Trainspotting,' 'Sunshine') doesn't coat the streets in blood or awaken our hero in the midst of anarchy. Pure Rage - The Making of 28 Days Later: A fairly conversational making of, this featurette actually starts with the ideas behind Alex Garland's script, and how credible they might be.

As such, it’s unrealistic to expect that '28 Days Later' would look as sharp as other high-def releases. My guess is that this release was mostly done as a tie-in for the film's sequel, 28 Weeks Later, and less as a tent pole release for the format. Predator and another Danny Boyle flick, ‘Sunshine,’ which (as of this writing) has yet to be announced for Blu-ray.If anyone were vulnerable, regardless of race, creed, sexual orientation, or even geographic location, are our societies sufficiently stable enough to hold up against such an onslaught?
