About this deal

According to Humphrey Carpenter, Alice 's brand of nonsense embraces the nihilistic and existential. I decided just to read "Alice in Wonderland" and "Alice - Through the Looking Glass", and "Puzzles from Wonderland" since that's the main reason I bought this book in the first place. Alice's Adventures in Wonderland and Other Tales contains every piece ever written by this master of puns, puzzles, and fantasy that have been delighting adults and children alike for over 150 years. The design is simple and stylish, the paper is of good quality (the type size is about 10), the book even has a ribbon book mark! Alice gradually grows in size and confidence, allowing herself increasingly frequent remarks on the irrationality of the proceedings.

Carina Garland notes how the world is "expressed via representations of food and appetite," naming Alice's frequent desire for consumption (of both food and words), her 'Curious Appetites.

Gerald Barry's 2016 one-act opera, Alice's Adventures Under Ground, first staged in 2020 at the Royal Opera House, is a conflation of the two Alice books. I had to take a lot of breaks for this book, since it was just a book I read to fill the time in between other books. Beyond its refashioning of Carroll's everyday life, Cohen argues, Alice critiques Victorian ideals of childhood. Come down the travelators, exit Sainsbury's, turn right and follow the pedestrianised walkway to Crown Walk and turn right - and Coles will be right in front of you.

What an amazing journey alice went on, every character fascinated me and the whole world came to life in my mind so perfectly. A ballet by Christopher Wheeldon and Nicholas Wright commissioned for The Royal Ballet entitled Alice's Adventures in Wonderland premiered in February 2011 at the Royal Opera House in London. Once again, Alice is confronted by a world where no one cares about her opinion, the standards she is accustomed to in her world are irrelevant, and she is almost entirely without help or guidance. With a brilliant introduction by Chris Riddell, Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland is one of twenty much-loved classic stories relaunched with gorgeous new covers. His firm, Macmillan Publishers, agreed to publish Alice's Adventures in Wonderland by sometime in 1864. This volume features all the best-known works of Lewis Carroll, including the novels, ‘Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland’ and ‘Through the Looking-Glass’, with the classic illustrations of John Tenniel. Amidst the Caterpillar's questioning, Alice begins to admit to her current identity crisis, compounded by her inability to remember a poem. The book includes a behind-the-scenes journey, including an author profile, a guide to who’s who, activities and more.
