But there is something I don't really understand, usually Denji just did whatever Makima told him to do, but then in the middle of this volume, Denji turned against her and fought the other Devils sent out by her to hunt him down? Chainsaw Man has transformed into a surrealist bizarro fiction nightmare and the story has gotten surprisingly complex and thought provoking compared to where it started. This shows that even in his current form, he still has some of his old desires and there’s still a bit of him leftover in there.
