About this deal

The product really impressed Peter Jones, who said it was 'really good, very clever and very neat', while fellow Dragon Sara Davies said 'It works really well. So, I got in touch with the company and asked if they ever work with bloggers and they kindly sent me out two of their Solar Buddies to try out. I am really impressed with this very simple yet effective applicator and have already had many comments from other parents when they have seen the children using this themselves. Mothers Lauren and Kelli have launched a new product, Solar Buddies, which aims to make sun cream application easier and cleaner for young children. We didn’t have sun cream covered sticky hands at all and even our son could apply his own sunscreen, albeit with a little help from me to do his neck and back.

The choice of sun protection to use in Solar Buddies is up to you, but we recommend using an alcohol free product. Laura and Kelli’s most memorable mistake came after they were approached by a potential health sector client who wanted to work with them but felt their brand wasn’t quite ‘right’. With its sponge and roller ball combination, it makes for an easy application with less waste and less mess. but with these it’s painless, waaaay less messy, and much easier to reach hard to reach parts like my back.Apply sunscreen at least 20 minutes before going into the sun and reapply every 2 hours to ensure ongoing protection.

It then dispenses the lotions via a sponge and roller-ball tip, so kids can easily cover their skin without making any mess. However, after 2 weeks in the bottle, our son’s sunscreen hasn’t leaked and I also discovered it is an alcohol-free paediatric sunscreen. Solar Buddies assists teachers and school staff in applying the lotion to children in a safe, convenient and mess free way. That said, that has now changed thanks to Solar Buddies which has now made this tedious job a lot easier and the kids actually no longer argue over having their cream applied and can do it themselves too meaning I can send them in to school with their applicator and know that they will do a better job at applying it and are more likely to too.

It’s really easy, and there is even a place for labelling in case you have more than one and don’t want to get them mixed up. Beautifully designed and the kids actually love it enough to use it and apply their sun scream themselves. The best friends from Cwmbran in Wales created Solar Buddies, a refillable, roll-on sunscreen applicator.

Harper (aged 3) currently has a mild obsession with sun cream, and being apply to apply it for herself meant the SolarBuddy was a huge hit with her. This little bottle comes empty so that you can choose your favourite brand of suncream to add inside, as we all know some children react to certain creams or we just have a favourite brand, Harry, for instance, can only wear a few different brands due to his eczema. We did find that our own squeeze-bottle sun cream was a bit harder to apply due to the thicker consistency, but this type is the best to use with Solar Buddies. Solar Buddies is a fun, innovative product that will help you and your kids make sure they are protected from harmful UV rays.To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. Following several incidents where children were badly sunburned at school, the National Association of Schoolmasters Union of Women Teachers (NASUWT) union advised teachers to supervise suncream application rather than apply it themselves. Simply unscrew the handle (that’s the orange part - you can turn it upside down and rest it on the Solar Buddies container for ease).

When sunscreens get hot they become thinner than their original state, this means sprays and oils can become almost water like and this can sometimes result in leaking from the roller ball.We recommend that each Solar Buddy is only used by one person, even amongst siblings, for hygiene reasons. All you need to do to enter is vote for your favourite hair, make-up and skincare products in the Fabulous Beauty Awards 2023. One of the things which made the mornings a struggle here was the weather, yes the children were in their summer uniforms so in theory there are fewer clothes to get out, ready and to wrestle onto the children but with the hotter weather there was also the need for water bottles, sun hats and lots of sun cream too.
