Kirk and sweeney was a wooden schooner, best known for smuggling rum from the Caribbean to the Northeast during the early years of Prohibition. To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. I've been drinking rum for over 40 years and find this to be one of the better sipping rums, smooth flavoursome and without the devastation of throat burn that the rougher end of the bunch induce, it is after all meant to be a pleasure and not an endurance. The only bad thing to come out of this discovery is now I want to keep trying new more expensive rums to see if I can tell the difference.
