About this deal

In the box, you’ll also find RCA cables, a power adapter with four international plug attachments, an adapter for playing 45s, and a USB-C cable that, surprisingly, is just for charging other devices with — such as the company’s Get Together speakers — and not for connecting to a computer so you can digitize your records. So I recently ripped it all out and replaced it with a sound bar, but I struggled about what to do for a turntable, since I really do enjoy vinyl.

Following House of Marley's instructions, I placed the pressure gauge on the plate, and then the stylus needle onto its 2-gram mark, and slowly adjusted the weight until the pressure gauge became level.I activated the included anti-skate and set it to the recommended level of 2, but it still kept happening. A stylish and great-sounding turntable, the House of Marley Stir It Up is a fantastic choice for showing off your vinyl collection. Like all house of Marley products, the new Stir It Up wireless turntable checks off a lot of boxes in terms of green cred. Overall, the turntable delivered a warm sound, but that doesn't mean it lacked punch, and we heard plenty of life in the reggae legend's 45-year-old tunes.

This eco-friendly turntable can stream via Bluetooth to headphones or powered speakers; connect to a receiver, amplifier, or pre-amp using RCA cables; or you can rip your vinyl to a computer. Listening to “Stay in Time” from the 1979 album On, by Illinois power pop band Off Broadway, I was impressed by how quietly the Stir It Up played back this used copy that, while in pretty good shape, still looked like it would have a good amount of pop and crackle.

House of Marley has managed to build a company that promotes an eco-friendly philosophy while delivering audio quality that’s probably better than it needs to be to succeed in the market. I obviously couldn’t conduct a review of a House of Marley turntable without playing some Bob Marley, which really helped me get a good sense of the mids and highs of the Lux. I have seen some reviews of this turntable that have found the tonearm difficult to balance for setting up the correct weight on the stylus. The RCA outputs on the back of the turntable allow you to connect it to your speakers or receiver, just like most other turntables.
