About this deal

Selling and clothes swap parties and donating clothes to charity in a slow and steady way has helped to chip away at the problem. She plays her as a woman more dented than strengthened by experience, an air of childlike wonder undercut by her endless apologies and lack of confidence. Laura Horton’s poignant comic monologue at 59E59 Theaters, part of the Brits Off Broadway festival, delivers a sympathetic portrayal of a sample-sale hoarder. Its commitment to balancing humour and emotion means it's neither the funniest show out there or the most moving. The environmental cost of creating clothes is clearly high as huge amounts of resources are needed to make clothes.

Like all great theatre you cannot see the workings of this production, only the highly polished whole, but clearly a talented team of creative women have joined together to consider all aspects of this near-perfect piece. Sophie is a bisexual woman in her thirties - we rarely see queer women out of their twenties onstage or screen in the present day, with a lot of sapphic representation focussing on historical stories. New casting has been announced for the 70th Anniversary tour of The Mousetrap, the longest running play in the world, which continues to enthrall audiences throughout the UK and Ireland. Based on Laura’s real-life experiences, the work is a dark, magical story about trying to escape a world you’ve spent a lifetime carefully building.Short Plays include: Giddy Tuppy, The Space, ONCOMM winner, 2020; Labyrinth Diet, Arcola Theatre 2019; This I Believe, Theatre Royal Plymouth, Exeter Phoenix, 2019.

Equity has announced that chorus members at the English National Opera will not strike on 1 February. When a 23-year-old Laura Horton came across a vintage Christian Dior pencil skirt, black and gold with deep pockets it seemed to be the perfect symbol for who she wanted to become, someone thin, stylish and successful, like the women she saw in Vouge or on Sex and the City. She's decided to start dating women, and the show begins with her on a date with Jo, a chef - as the date draws to a close, Sophie fumbles with excuses as to why Jo can't come back to her flat. Working with Pleasance Theatre Trust offers us such a vital opportunity to support artists from the far South West. I’m excited that Laura’s journey has gone from publicist to producer and playwright of her own personal story about hoarding. This shouldn't entirely overshadow the play's presentation of queerness, however, which also offers something rarely seen onstage. I looked around at other house shares and realised I just couldn’t afford to stay in London unless I lived with more people, I couldn’t find anything in budget. Laura Horton, now the Plymouth Laureate of Words charts her obsession with fashion in her Fringe First winning show ‘Breatheless’ produced by the Theatre Royal Plymouth and showing this week at the SOHO theatre.

Breathless is part of the Theatre Royal Plymouth gang who have sent half a dozen pieces to Edinburgh, of which Horton’s is but one.Though a particular event pushes Sophie into realising she has a problem, the process of acceptance and giving away her clothes is long and slow. I can’t quite put my finger on it, but I think perhaps an actress with genuine OCD concerns herself might have pulled off the part better. Often in the media it’s a certain type of person they tend to put forward to talk about the importance of it. BREATHLESS: A Funny, Honest and Stylish Exploration Of Hoarding Comes to Edinburgh Fringe (broadwayworld.

This humanises hoarding and is a reminder that it can be far less severe than the cases that make it onto telly documentaries. It will be great to see what Horton will produce next, maybe a full-length drama with a bigger budget at her disposal. When a secret she’s keeping from those she loves, and even from herself, threatens to unravel it all, she must make a choice.I’ve only really just transitioned out of still taking on PR clients in the last year, and I still have one, just in case.
