There are also lots and lots of practical tips and projects to put the child in control of how they tackle these thoughts and feels. Examples:- list three ways you are hard on yourself, how can you support yourself, what colour does your stress feel like, what colour does your calm feel like.I can’t speak highly enough of this wonderful book - just what we need when we are all stuck indoors with too much time on our hands and in our brains! How this book made me feel: I was very interested to check out this journal because I wanted to find out more about anxiety and how to deal with it.

Being able to find a way to create your own calm is a fantastic life skill so if you put the time in together now it will pay dividends in the future! So far we’ve found it a real conversation starter helping both of us chat about our thoughts and feelings. We all need something like this in the modern world - an opportunity to step away from the screens, to pick up a pen and take some time out for our self.

When she speaks of her own experience of Anxiety, I can't tell if she is meaning "in general" or if she was diagnosed with a mental illness of Anxiety. This handy little book, beautifully illustrated and appealing (I mean it really does has shelf appeal, and working in a library that's a big influence on what children engage with), breaks down into 7 sections which you can dip into as you choose. I absolutely love this book and I will be looking out for all her other work as I am sure they will be just as beautiful and helpful as this one. Brought for a friend who struggles with anxiety at times, found this after looking and looking and I am told I picked a good book here, they have found it helps gets them out of the anxiety mind set so might have to get one for myself now.
