This had no business being like 500 pages (kindle said 700 pages lol), but I still REALLY enjoyed it. Imagine my surprise when what I actually felt when Kellan finally jumped off that roof was a cold, cold fury. To begin my descent into hell, let me enjoy first refilling my memory with the brightest moments of this book!

Trust me when I say this definitely didn't need to be a 700-page ass-long novel to get to its final point. why would he leave it to the teenage girl he'd talked to 4 times is another rhetorical question to ponder.I can understand why Charlie was immediately infatuated by Tate (hot older doctor 😍) but Tate became obsessed with Charlie a little too quickly for my taste. I haven’t read this author before, I didn’t read the blurb, it was picked for part of a book club so I jumped in blind. We decided not to take the plunge and agreed to check on each other every Valentine’s Day until school ended. a young man himself when his good for nothing dead beat, alcoholic father dumped his teenage son on a fresh out of med school tate, so he could run off with his too-young gold-digging girlfriend. I think this was one of the only things I came to appreciate simply because there were times when it felt real.

This is my second time reading something by this author and I was pleasantly surprised to find out this is her signature writing style and not a fortuitous event.the story before the big revelation about Kellan's suicide letter and manuscript (if he were real he'd bitch slap me from Hell for not saying "final letter" instead). I will admit I’ve never had mental health issues or depression myself so it’s difficult for me to understand, but I have a younger sister that struggled with similar things to Kellan when we were younger, so it was much easier for me to relate to Tate than to Kellan. All I’m going to say is that to me, given everything we find out by the end, I felt like Kellan’s decision was more selfish than anything.
