Top notes are Apple, Bergamot, Water Lily and White Peach; middle notes are Rose, Cyclamen and Jasmine; base notes are Musk, Patchouli, Amber and Madagascar Vanilla. There was someone who described this perfume as “offensively inoffensive” and I laughed so hard because yep (even though I still like it)! I've picked fragrances before on reviews only and have been pleasantly surprised, however, with this fragrance, it has been a terrible purchase. The masculine version, Modern Man, blends cold and spicy notes in an aromatic composition created by Irina Burlakova and Vincent Kuczinski of Mane.
It's a welcome addition to a wardrobe of cheapies that doesn't have this base already covered, but for somebody willing to shell out for better-known designers, another route would be preferable. It has a very addictive smell though, and kind of reminds me of Ecko Green, but with a lot more going on. This fruity-floral womens perfume starts with a burst of freshness from Italian bergamot, waterlily, golden apple and white peach.
Banana Republic Modern Man is a woody and aromatic cologne that takes olfactory senses on a luxurious adventure. Finally a surge of vetiver, incense, birch, musk and patchouli climbs to sharpen the olfactory experience. I am not familiar with that one but the female version is a true fruity-floral, which I would say is probably more fruity than floral. First few minutes are a little rough with all the alcohol, but then it settles into a nice pleasant soapy clean scent which is safe to wear and gives the out of the shower feel.
Sometimes referred to as aromatic water, EdTs, such as this one, have a lower concentration of fragrant compounds than EdPs do, routinely between 5-15%.The temperature has come down, but there's still a hint of moisture in the air and the smell is fresh and clean with undercurrents of shaving soap (aromatics) and cologne (sporty citrus). Tip: If you are between sizes and you are looking for a more supportive fit, choose the smaller size. The difference is in bottle shapes – bottle for men is square-shaped while the edition for women is circular. The people referring to this as smelling unisex, or slightly masculine or crisp and green probably refer to Modern Man in a square bottle.
