About this deal

It isn’t negative, I am just not used to having something not made of acrylic or, perhaps, a lighter and thinner aluminum material. Y split has Moondrop logo printed on it and it doesn’t have any chin slider like the rest of Moondrop products.

My Shure’s soundstage appears flatter but wider to me while my Starfields’ deeper and thus more three-dimensional.

But, vocalists and Jazz, Rock, and similar genres without a focus on wide-field recording presentation offerings end up sounding superb. The midrange is really well-tuned, with the vocals being the highlight (both female and male vocals). connector has soldered joints that are just not soldered to high quality, when they dip or have any minor strain on them it sounds the same as an improperly connected TRS, volume dips and detail is missing as if it was 16khz audio rather than 44. Upper-mids are more upfront on the Moondrop Starfield so if you prefer intimate vocals the E3000 will sound recessed in the midrange.

My Shure are tuned warmer in the lower midrange/fundamental range and have a more prominent upper bass punch whereas my Starfield are boosted even more in the lower bass. Because each earpiece is lightweight and on the small to medium side I find them to be very comfortable. And because it doesn't exhibit any of these problems, I have to give it close to top marks for timbre. I really liked how Heavy Metal and Pop sounded on these, metal had the speed and aggression needed to make it sound good and engaging, and thanks to the bump in sub bass and bass area Pop songs sounded engaging and fun, Acid jazz also worked pretty well, sounding full and detailed, overall i found a really engaging IEM to listen, not the most correct a few times, but is always fun, overall the tonality is really good and i think most people will be happy with it. MOONDROP's flagship IEMs have good reputation too, both the Blessing and A8 have very good reviews from reviewers and users as well.Very soft, flexible cable with four conductors that are braided below and twisted above the y-splitter. But I don't hear any substantial benefit to technical ability over the Starfield that stands out, apart from maybe the soundstage. They also include 6 pairs of ear tips that include Small, Medium and Large, spare dust filters and a tweezer (amazing) that helps you install the dust filters. They have excellent resolution, but treble roll off is rather quick and you do miss some macro-details.

There’s something highly alluring about the way the Starfield shifts its perceived weaknesses into strengths, the way it straddles that line so neatly for my preferences, and it’s something I can’t get enough of each time I listen to it. It turns out that under a strong light, I can make out a tiny L and R engraved on one side of the translucent rubber 2-pin connector housings. I think it could sound ever so slightly more natural, but that has more to do with frequency response and tonality than anything else. Using my Hiby R6 vs using the Hidizs AP80 Pro does not result in much of a noticeable fidelity differential between the two pairings. Depending on where you live, the time it may take for your exchanged product to reach you, may vary. The Moondrop Starfield is a single Dynamic Driver design with a 10mm diameter Carbon Nanotube (CNT) diaphragm. In my opinion, because it is such a small universal IEM, this should fit the majority of general consumers exceptionally well. I do not hear and lushness of velvet thickness to the notes as they are presented to me, regardless of what source produce or amp I am paired with. Resolution is sufficient, for me I find the mid-range to be the most detailed area here, sub bass is fairly textured as well but the treble which is usually the highlight of highly resolving IEMs isn't that detailed nonetheless I find both layering and imaging to be superb despite the lack of sound stage magnitude. The accessories of the Tin T4 are of higher quality than that of the Starfield, but the QC issues are too prevalent on the Tin IEM and something you must note before making this particular purchase.
