Description

This gaming soundbar is a great fit for your desk just under your monitor, especially if you don't have a laptop between you getting in the way. While the 5.1 surround sound aspect is certainly overplayed, there is a left/right audio distinction that's handy for playing competitive shooters, but only when sat at a desk - you'll lose the distinction if playing on a TV from your couch. We've seen plenty of Razer headsets perform much better on the immersive audio front though, especially with something like the Razer Nari Ultimate. Though, given how compact the Leviathan is, the sound it provides is impressive.

Designed to work with Bluetooth, these 60W speakers offer built-in woofers and tweeters, analog power amplifiers, and a built-in DAC, which could come in handy if you like to customize your music outside of gaming time. There are also dual analog audio inputs and a USB audio input if you decide that the wired approach is a better option for you, giving you plenty of options as your sound decisions shift.

Every manufacturer wants to get behind RGB lightning. Logitech is among one of the last to enter the game – pun intended. It follows Creative and Razer to be yet another big name-manufacturer to offer built-in customisable and colourful lighting. The G560 comes with a very powerful down-firing subwoofer which proved to be amazing for things like explosions but became quite overpowering at low volumes while listening to music. Adjustments in the software help a little but you're on your own if you've connected to bluetooth. Since both speakers and soundbars can offer a similar audio experience, it all comes down to your desktop. If you've little space to spare, a pair of computer speakers will be best suited. Whereas a soundbar can take up a long stretch behind or under your monitor. That said, a soundbar can work a treat with monitors on arms or mounted off the desk. The 240-watt speakers offer excellent audio quality without the need to take up space with a subwoofer, ensuring you'll be able to hear (and often feel) every rumble, musical cue, and crash of sound. Most of the audio elements can be adjusted with Logitech's sound software, so you can create a profile that's a perfect fit for your games or enable sound-enhancing modes. The DTS:X surround sound format is supported for PCs as well! What was not satisfying was the unusually short 4ft cables, which limit how you can set them up. However, being able to lay the speakers vertically or horizontally is a nice touch. The sound achieved surprisingly balanced audio for a speaker set asking for this much cash—a strong yes for anyone looking to upgrade their current dinky desktop speakers.

Why you should buy it: It's the best combination of audio and RGB style that gamers could hope for.

Overall, I was unhappy with the initial volume issues, but once those were resolved, I came to seriously enjoy the G560. The bass is booming, the RGB is tasteful and there’s a decent amount of customizability through G Hub. I’m sure you could find comparable studio speakers that run circles around Logitech’s offering — drivers with much clearer sound — but what’s here interfaces well with games and looks nice while doing it. The Audio Visualizer, which changes the lighting based on audio that is playing, was far more subtle than I expected it to be. The actual audible volume output didn’t affect the lights in intensity at all, which is what I expected, but instead it was all based on the frequencies present in the music signal. I found myself occasionally getting distracted by the effect as I was typing and could definitely see myself having it on while playing music as I did other things around the house. Another feature you won't find in other entries on the list is that this Bluetooth speaker has a built-in mic for voice chat. Between work calls and Discord chatting, my voice was clear and sounded good. If you're someone who hates wearing headsets all day, it's a nice feature. Logitech's software allows you to choose between two control modes for the speakers. Hardware control ditches the software and uses Bluetooth or AUX input for lighting. You get a gentle rainbow color cycle that acts as an audio visualizer, which flashes and brightens to the music's beat. The software control allows you to choose between fixed color, color cycle, breathing, audio visualizer, and screen sampler lighting modes.

If you're on the lookout for premium speakers then the Razer Nommo Pro system is perfect. It is premium in every way, from build quality to design, and from audio quality to (inevitably) price. However, the quality speaks - and sounds - for itself here. When the system is connected to your computer by USB and Logitech’s Gaming Software is installed you can customize the lighting zones on your display, the function of the assignable button, adjust a 10-band EQ for the sound and create custom equalizer profiles, and enable the DTS:X Ultra virtual surround sound. DTS:X is the successor to DTS-HD Master Audio. Within the Logitech Gaming Software, settings can be saved to separate profiles that can be used for specific games, when listening to music, or for watching movies. If you have any other RGB Logitech peripherals, you can also sync the lighting across all of your accessories.

Still, my biggest gripe with the G560 ended up being rather significant but, ultimately, short-lived. I initially installed these speakers on a Windows 11 gaming PC and I immediately noticed that the volume curve was... strange. I had to slide the OS sound mixer into the 40ish range before the G560 achieved what I would call ‘normal’ volume.
