As of March 16, 2020 based on internal ASUS market analysis comparing ZenBook Flip 13 OLED to competing convertible laptops with a screen measuring 13.3 inches and a set of I/O ports including USB-C ® Thunderbolt ™ 3, USB Type-A and HDMI from vendors including Acer, Apple, HP, Huawei, Dell, Lenovo, Microsoft and Samsung. ASUS ZenBook Flip 13 UX363 has a Full HD IPS panel, Innolux N133HCE-EN2 (CMN1388). Its diagonal is 13.3-inch (33.78 cm), and the resolution – 1920 х 1080p. Additionally, the screen ratio is 16:9, the pixel density – 166 ppi, their pitch – 0.153 х 0.153 mm. The screen can be considered Retina when viewed from at least 53 cm (from this distance, the average human eye can’t see the individual pixels). As a convertible, this ZenBook Flip UX363 gets a touchscreen with a 13.3-inch panel, available as either a FHD IPS with 100% sRGB coverage or as a FHD OLED with 100% DCI-P3 premium alternative. The latter is a pricy upgrade, but brighter and something you could consider as a professional looking for a color-accurate display in your ultrabook. However, this laptop’s performance might not suffice for that, that’s why my first choice would still be the more IPS choice on this product. The Asus ZenBook Flip 13 UX363 is a compact convertible with a great display that definitely deserves attention in the semi-professional field as well.
I’ve added a couple of other configurations for comparison, all of them ultraportables, albeit not within the same price range. ZenBook Flip 13 meets the ultra-demanding MIL-STD 810G military standard for reliability and durability, undergoing a punishing test regime that includes extended tests for operation in harsh environments. Ultimately, the ZenBook as a series offers incredibly beautiful and well-built notebooks. However, some of them come out as flops – like the ZenBook Flip 13 UX362, but others happen to be really good units – like the ZenBook Flip 14 UX463. Today we have another convertible, which might be of interest to artists and designers – the Flip 13 UX363.
Compared to other Asus Tiger Lake laptops we’ve tested, this one limits the processor more aggressively, which has a positive impact on the temperatures, and a negative impact on the performance. Nothing short of the expectations – this notebook sports great visuals and a full-aluminum body. One of the most impressive stats regarding its construction is the profile – it stands at just 13.9mm. It is also pretty light, at 1.3 kg. Now, the laptop, itself seems rigid when it is closed, but we found that the base is a bit bendy, when you open it up.
