Although the Coleman Meadowoood 4L is larger than the 4, it's still a viable tent for weekend camping, giving you that flexibility for short and longer camping trips. Definitely a job that can easily be done by one person, and without feeling you’ve just gone 10 rounds with a wrestler. It went straight into the bag first time, no need to unroll, get more air our and then hope it fits into the bag. It was all very effortless, and most importantly stressless. A rising sewn-in PE groundsheet and fully taped polyester flysheet, with an impressive hydrostatic head of 6,000mm, provides great water and bug proofing. An additional footprint and carpet is available (sold separately) for more protection and warmth underfoot – and storm straps help keep this sturdy structure grounded in high winds. There is also the option to add a vestibule (sold separately) to create an enclosed porch. This adds another weather-protected space for gear or for somewhere to sit and enjoy your surroundings. Doors: Side and front, full and mesh ventilating doors. Dropped doors with no overstep for easy access Heavy rain is no match for the polyester flysheet which has a hydrostatic head of 4000mmas well as fully taped seams, this combined with the tough, integrated polyethylene groundsheetensures a dry and bug-free interior. At the front there’s a large door and over the top is a decent sized poled sun/rain canopy which also has sides expanding down to the floor. The canopy did give us some shelter from the hot sun as we sat outside the Meadowood Air 4 in the baking July sun. I’m sure it would help keep the rain off us and the front door had there been any sign of any wet stuff.There are many other factors which influence the performance of tent in tough weather conditions. The Coleman Meadowood Air 4 has a lovely sized large front door, making access super easy as well as letting in lots of coolness in during the hot weather. Also, at the front door the lip part of that sewn-in groundsheet unzips and folds flat to make easy access for wheelchairs and pushchairs etc., a really thoughtful design feature.
