About this deal

Should you use slow cooker liners? No, there is no reason to use slow cooker bags. Everyone should avoid plastics when possible (The New York Times) and most slow cooker recipes allow for easy cleanup, but if needed: They are safe to use with Instant Pots in slow cooker mode, but NOT when the Instant Pot is in pressure cooker mode. Slow cooker liners came to our attention when making a list of slow cooker accessories. The cooking bags were easy to dismiss as absurd because: (1) the bags are a solution to a problem that does not exist, (2) nearly everyone is aware of the decades-old health advice to avoid plastic in the kitchen, and (3) environmental issues like the Great Pacific Garbage Patch are real.

In addition to potential health risks, some users may wish to consider the environmental impact of using disposable plastic bags. Reusable alternatives, such as silicone liners, can be a more sustainable option for those who frequently use slow cookers and want to reduce their plastic waste. Types of slow cooker liners For reasons of hygiene and safety, personal grooming products, cosmetics or items of intimate clothing cannot be returned. Moisture can form on the bag and drip down into the pot or outside the pot. This doesn’t affect the cooking. It just means you’ll need to wipe out the pot and the surroundings after use. The clean up won’t be entirely effortless but still shouldn’t entail soaking and scrubbing. Hot spots To oil the pot you can use some standard cooking spray on the bottom and sides of the pot. Or, you can put olive oil or vegetable oil on a clean cloth (or even your clean fingers) and rub it on the bottom and sides of the pot.Personally, I don’t use slow cooker liners. I have a slow cooker with a ceramic bowl, which I find easy enough to clean using this method…

But, I don’t think I would try using parchment paper for something with a higher water content. For example, I wouldn’t try using parchment paper for stew, chili, pot roast, etc. As soon as dinner is served, you should empty the leftovers from your slow cooker into a different container, and soak your slow cooker right away in the sink. Fill it with water, dish soap, and let it sit for a couple hours or overnight (depending on how dirty it is). If you let it sit out the food will dry to it and it will be a whole lot harder to get it clean. Clean up is fast– As I said above, clean up with a slow cooker liner is as easy as removing the liner and throwing it in the trash. The non-reusability of these means there’s an extra cost to every meal you make with the slow cooker.
