In 2014, the engines were redesigned, with a new, less powerful (but faster) motor, a longer wheelbase, unpainted buffers, silver siderods and couplers, printed details and interchangeable chassis. His whistle vector has a slightly different design compared to the other steam engines, making him one of four engines to have different whistle designs. The others being Edward, Henry, and James. In the original series, Gordon was a part of both the original and reformed Steam Team. However, in All Engines Go, he is not a part of the main cast and is a secondary/supporting character. All Engines Go also portrays Gordon as the one responsible for managing trains and deliveries on the Island of Sodor, as opposed to Sir Topham Hatt as with the original series. Thomas mends the Telephones ( from Thomas and the Rainbow) with a flatbed of Teleograph poles and a breakvan with a rainbow banner Edward's 2014 model's pilot wheels are moulded into his running board and the prototype of the model shows them unpainted.
