The old dome wouldn't have fit the new flash tube, it's a better design with a frosted front, so again a nice improvement and only a fix if you're insisting everything they've changed is a fix. Overall, the AD400Pro and AD600Pro are both amazing portable flashes that perform very well in both indoor and outdoor settings. Sehr schnellere Wiederholung, unter 1sek bei voller 600ws( das Schaft keine bis jetzt) , sehr intuitive Bedienung (sieht gut aus) high-speed -sync bis 1/8000 Mega toll. I see these as fixes, rather than new features. As a model incorporating the fixes, it should have been priced the same as the old model (IMO).

No, the list I provided were the features I remembered, if you actually look at the product you can see it's been almost completely redesigned (new chassis, new battery, new controls, new display, new tube/dome/modelling, new electronics), it's ridiculous to think you'd get it for the same price as the lower end model. Partway through the day, we went to take a break in Glasgow Green park. So I tested my usual TTL method. Aperture priority with -2EV on the camera, and +2EV on the flash in TTL mode. The controls are easy and clear and are displayed on the large, clear Dot-Matrix LCD panel. You can set all features with the Godox X1T, X2T and XPro triggers, which control the built in 2.4GHz Godox X System wireless receiver. No 1/3 stop power adjustment option on the strobe itself (but you can still do 1/3 stop increments from the trigger) For me it is two major points: Value and weight. When doing school photography I used to carry the two Einsteins, two batteries, cables, extension cable (if battery fails), huge heavy duty stands, radio triggers and receivers (three times what I needed). To carry all that I have a bag I call a "body Bag" because you can fit a small person in it. Ultimately, this portable studio flash delivered exactly as promised, and outperformed an awful lot of the also-rans. Even in HSS the accuracy was there. I loved the aesthetics, the recycle time, the displayed light duration, the LED modelling light, the menu system and far more than I can actually recall.

However, Godox learned from the AD200 and what they learned they applied to the Pro. On the AD200 Pro they improved the recycle time from 0.01-2.1s to 0.01 to 1.8s, as well as offering a greater choice of power ranges (1/256-1/1 in 1/10th stop increments instead of 1/128-1/1 in 8 stops). They also improved upon the design of the flash by adding a sunken LCD screen to the unit which protects the screen against damage in the case of being dropped or blown over. It feels incredibly solid, and the standard reflector feels like an integral part when fitted. It doubles as a tube protector when the protective cap is fitted to the reflector. I found that to be a nice touch, as I would no longer have to take a cap and a standard reflector on location. Less space and weight are always good. Talking about the bulb, with the dome in place, it does look kind of massive! But looking at it carefully, the frosting is applied to the front flat face of the dome, which definitely helps with the light dispersion from the tube coils when compared with the original. The dome seems to fill the standard reflector, and your eye is soon drawn to the rather large yellow circle behind the flash tube. A 38w LED modelling light. As modelling lights go, it's extremely bright! It's much brighter than a lot of my standard studio heads, so it has real-world application, as opposed to a number of modelling lights found on some portable battery flash heads. It can be set to a pre-set level or vary according to the power output of the head. The new Flashpoint R2 Pro wireless flash trigger, the ultimate dedicated light master for The R2 Family of Flash. Boasting sparkling innovations that make the art of photography easier than ever, at the touch of a button. Like the essential TTL tool, TCM. TCM fusion takes TTL to a new level, overcoming the exposure fluctuations that may occur in TTL shooting by saving the successful exposure value to Manual settings for repeat capture accuracy. So combined with the CRI,the PRO’sLED doesn’t appear to be aimed at high quality video use at this stage. Though its probably fine for some impromptu filming. For this image of a bolt of cloth, I had a large overhead softbox, and then a large gridded reflector frame right. The issue I had, was down to the weight of the head, which meant I had to counterbalance with a sandbag etc. and I still felt a little uneasy working below it.Natürlich für ein Chinese newcomer war ich anfangs sehr skeptisch aber mittlerweile habe ich mehrere Produkte diese Märkte, und die funktionieren tatenlos miteinander. für so viel Innovationen Gewichtsersparnis und allgemeine Leistungen ein super Angebot, unschlagbar. I had never felt limited by my flash recycling time. As long as I could keep it under 3 secs, I was fine. I didn't feel the need to shoot a machine gun burst. You anticipate the action and you get the shot every time. The foam in the bag could be better designed to be able to make better use of the empty space after you remove the bulb & Bowens adapter and fit them onto the strobe So Flashpoint are currently lookinginto different 7″ reflector options that may suit the 600 PRO better. IMPROVED 38W LED MODELLING LAMP - Improving on the AD600's 10W LED modelling lamp, the AD600 Pro boasts an impressive 38W LED modelling lamp making it much more versatile and useful, especially in lit areas

Is the AD400 Pro worth it? I have to say yes. When you consider that the power is roughly equivalent to the earlier model AD600 Manual and AD600 TTL strobes, the price makes it a very attractive option. Ifyou’re wanting to compare the specs with other strobes, keep in mind the durations are often statedas T0.5 times, not T0.1.So I have also included theT0.5 times for the 600 PRO in secondpair of graphs below. And that supplied 5″ reflector, providing a broader even light pattern, is nice, thoughover a stop lessbright than the original 600 with supplied 7″ reflector. To cut a long story short though, the power output of the 600 PRO does appear to be the same as the original strobes, as Godox have stated. I love that the AD400 Pro comes in its own case, even if it is precut foam. Many previous models of Godox light didn’t, including the AD600 Pro, unless you bought it from Adorama. The AD200 also comes in a similar, but obviously smaller, case, also with precut foam. But I do wish with this one, that there wasn’t so much wasted space inside it.

Now, as a commercial photographer, I tended to stay away from IGBT lights for the more colour sensitive work, basically because the colour temperature would drift towards blue as the power was turned down. Some heads are worse than others, and if you mix IGBT heads with voltage-controlled (full flash curve) heads, you can see the colour difference, sometimes quite dramatically. With this in mind, the colour accuracy mode that featured quite heavily in the AD600 Pro launch was something that piqued my interest. The R2 TTL Wireless Flash System is the advanced 2.4GHz radio remote that adds camera TTL dedicated custom functions to your multi flash experience. Easy to use buttons command a full range of functions like reliable channel triggering, group mode selectivity, HSS, all with powerful signal strength and exceptional stability to your selected camera flash language. LED panels clearly display the status of all remotely linked R2 compliant strobes so you always have control of group lighting mastery. R2 wireless communication gives speed of light response to on camera or off camera R2 Family devices for a spectacular advantage on the shoot in any environment. As with all of the other 2.4Ghz Godox/Flashpoint/Pixapro speedlights and strobes, the light is compatible with all of the 2.4Ghz triggers. That’s the XT32, X1T and XPro. You can mix and match to your heart’s content.
