In the book of Revelation, the redeemed are described as wearing white robes, signifying their purity and victory in Christ.

Revelation 9:17: The horses and riders I saw in my vision looked like this: Their breastplates were fiery red, dark blue, and yellow as sulphur. The heads of the horses resembled the heads of lions, and out of their mouthscame fire, smoke and sulphur. Through its various references, the color purple reminds us of God's majesty, his sovereignty, and the exalted nature of Jesus Christ as the King of kings.

With this symbolism comes the warning that the wealth of this world will never satisfy the soul (Ezekiel 7:19). Literal gold will leave us wanting more, but the symbolic gold of Christ’s love will bring us full circle.
