Description

As with all dehumidifiers, the 25L’s extraction rate varies depending on the temperature and humidity in the room but, to use an extreme example, at a rather stifling 30˚C and 80% humidity it will absorb 24.96 litres in a 24-hour period. That’s a lot of water extracted from seemingly nowhere. Don’t worry about it overflowing either since it will switch off when the float in the five-litre water tank hits the top. If there is mild damp, you’ll want a dehumidifier with a 14.5 L capacity for a large conservatory . For small and medium conservatories (up to 45 m²), get a dehumidifier with at least a 5.5 L capacity. For more severe damp, look for a capacity of at least 7.5 L if it’s a small/medium conservatory . For larger spaces, choose a 20 L dehumidifier.

It struggles in cooler temperatures though – like most refrigerant dehumidifiers. For this reason, we don’t recommend it for garages or conservatories. There are other EcoAir dehumidifiers better suited for these conditions. Home Size If there has been a leak in your house, or the walls and floors are noticeably wet, you should use a dehumidifier of at least 8.5 L/day in a small/medium room, and a dehumidifier of around 25 L in a large space. My Top Recommended Conservatory Dehumidifiers

If you are looking for something highly efficient and with an incredible ability to clear moisture, then this is the perfect unit for the job. The Compact Portable EcoAir DC18 Dehumidifier not only allows you and your family to breathe easier, but it also comes with an attractive array of functions that allow it to give full control, flexibility and superior performance. However, you may have to put up with a modest noise level at higher settings, but it is well worth it. Where To Buy? A side effect of this difference in capacity is that the DC12 is 2dB quieter. This might not sound like much, but remember that the decibel scale is logarithmic so this is a noticeable difference. The DC12 is also 2.5 kilograms lighter so it’s easier to carry. Summary Dehumidifiers can make such a difference to the air quality in your conservatory. If the windows are ever wet with condensation, or there is mould or damp growing on the walls, a dehumidifier will help remove to much moisture from the air. Ideally, the humidity of a home should sit between 30 – 50%. The DC12 comes with a “Touch Button” control panel and basic LED display. We’re not sure why EcoAir describes this panel as “Intelligent,” but it’s simple to use and provides all the information you need at a glance. We would have liked to have seen a more advanced display for monitoring humidity, but considering the price range it does the job. It can remove 20 litres of moisture per day and has an automatic ‘humidistat’ sensor (like a thermostat, but for humidity). There’s also as an easy-read digital LED display and a large 5.5 litre water-storage tank.

This large Vonhaus 20L Dehumidifiercan help keep the humidity at around 55 – 65% even in a large conservatory. If the environment isn’t overly damp, and isn’t used for showering or drying washing, you can use a dehumidifier with a capacity of 14.5 L or less. This applies even in a large rooms of 100 m². In a medium room, of around 45 m², you can get away with using a much smaller dehumidifier, around 5.5 L. Severe Damp Surprisingly, the DC12 comes with a large 3.5 litre water tank. This is much bigger than many other dehumidifiers. If you want to minimise how often you’re required to empty the dehumidifier, the DC12 is one of the larger options in its price range. Keep in mind that you’re unlikely to need to run the dehumidifier at all times. It can rapidly reduce humidity, so most people have it on for period of time each day (or when needed). Features

Like many of the best dehumidifiers, the machine includes a laundry drying function. EcoAir claims this reduces clothes drying time to between two to four hours, although this depends on the type of clothing (heavier items such as jeans require longer). If you’ve had enough of waiting 24 hours or more for your washing to fully dry, the laundry function could be very useful. Generally speaking, a desiccant dehumidifier will be quieter than a compressor model. They tend to have multiple fan speeds which also gives a choice of volume. The quietest dehumidifiers tend to cost a bit more, but it’s well worth the investment if you plan to keep it running through the night. But enough of that, lets bask in some stats: The Electriq’s water collection tank capacity is four litres; its extraction rate is up to 12 litres per day; it has a 24-hour timer and an operating temperature range of 5˚C to 35˚C. The EcoAir DC12 is a refrigerant dehumidifier. This means it’s most effective in warm and humid conditions, such as those found inside the average British home. Nevertheless, it’s still worth paying attention to the litre-per-day capacity, as dehumidifiers with a higher capacity tend to be more powerful and suited to larger rooms.

Extracting moisture in the home reduces humidity levels, protects properties, possessions and improves well being. Capable of extracting up to 18 Litres of water per day and collectable via a large internal tank (or by continuous drainage, where a hose is also included). Whilst a lot of dehumidifiers have a small display screen, the Dimplex FTE16 does not. Instead of being able to see the current humidity, there are numbered settings (1 – 9) that correlate to different humidity levels. It’s not just your crumbling walls you need to worry about, it’s your health. Mould and fungus are a bad thing when confined indoors and are a recognised cause of respiratory problems including chest infections, allergies and asthma.A dehumidifier isn’t the ultimate cure, but it will dry out the offending area. It'll also help prevent mould spores from getting airborne and make things a little more habitable. Although this dehumidifier is described as portable, it might be larger than you would expect, measuring 22.5 x 49.5 x 35 cm. It does, however have easy-glide caster wheels to help move it across hard floors.
