They are much more long-lasting than regular lighters which have to be frequently refilled or, in the case of the cheaper ones, thrown out after the fluid finishes. Once you get your rechargeable electric lighter it will last you a very long time. 2. How does flameless lighter work? They are so easy to use, controlled with a simple switch on the base. They come with an automatic built-in timer function. After turning the lights on, they will stay lit for 6 hours before turning off. They will then turn themselves on again at the same time each day for another 6 hours.
