About this deal

How’s that for specifications?! We’ve got an expansive frequency range of 3-100,000 hertz. While I honestly doubt anyone has the ears to take full benefit of those higher frequencies, the numbers still manage to impress me. Meanwhile, that low impedance of just 16 ohms will pair well with any low output device, from a phone or laptop to a portable high-res music player. Finally, sound pressure is a fairly standard 98 decibels – more than capable of adequate volume in normal listening situations. Low End

Sound is of very good quality and pretty neutral apart from the bass region which has a big boost (+6dB from reference). If you are after a specific type of sound or "soundstage" or whatever other buzzwords are popular with self professed Audiophiles, stay away from these unless you are serious about tweaking your EQ settings and being exposed to some hard truths. If you are one of these lazy "experts" that demnds more bass, or midrange, or sense of space or whatever... you're really just describing a closed range of frequency responses and effects that you prefer. The MDR1AM2 does not cater to you... they will expose the flaws in some of the music you like so much in terms of mixing and mastering that you thought were great with other headphones that "boosted" the bass/treble/etc.. Boosting = Fake/Inaccurate/Unbalanced sound. Sony rarely disappoints when it comes to the bass of its headphones. Both the MV1 and 1AM2 have a decent level of detail and power that aims for an engrossing but natural display of low-end frequency content. The bloom of the 1AM2 is quite larger than the MV1, but the MV1 still supplies some rich frequency content in its lows. Those frequencies arrive a bit slower though compared to the 1AM2. If you don’t like the bass as centered and hard-hitting when making decisions for your mix, then you might prefer the MV1 here. Those who want more of an edge to their bass timbre will probably want the 1AM2. Mids

Edit: I just realized I used the word "you/your" a lot when writing this, but I mean that towards anyone attempting the mod. Didn't want to sound too mean! Los que podrían ser comprables en sonido, serían unos Sennheiser HD 599, pero estos son abiertos, lo que te obliga a usarlos en casa y en ambientes tranquilos. There are people describing the previous version as "not bassy", so the bassheads might feel these don't have enough bass These headphones are among the purest you will find. Keep in mind they are not made for Audiophiles, but for Audio Professionals.

Sony’s high-end headphones impress with sound, disappoint with construction

So the SONY DAPs which are power limited will be able to drive those nicely without the need to crank it at the maximum setting. Possibly due to the fact that the lower treble is slightly recessed, the presence of instruments and vocals are set a distance away from the listener. Combined with its airy treble, this helps give the perception of a spacious sound although the soundstage is neither particularly wide nor deep. This is why I enjoy using the MDR-1AM2 for live performances as well.
