Description

Next we installed Windows on the drive and ran the hard drive tests from PCMark Vantage. This application does tend to favour SSDs over normal hard drives so is of limited use when comparing them to HDDs but it gives a good indication of performance differences between SSDs. A400 is available in capacities of up to 1.92TB to suit anyone’s needs. Ideal for desktops and notebooks This 608ABBF0 firmware update is designed for Windows 8.1, 8,7 SP1, Vista SP2 and XP SP3. Your SATA controller must be configured for AHCI mode within the BIOS and you must connect the drive to a native SATA port. Third-party SATA ports are not supported when updating your firmware.

Kingston® SSD Manager is an application that provides users with the ability to monitor and manage various aspects of their Kingston® solid state drive. The best method of preventing ESD is to use an ESD wrist strap or an earthing mat or table. However, because most users do not have access to these items, we have included the below steps to help reduce the chance of ESD as much as possible. Kingston SSD firmware updates are provided via Kingston’s SSD Manager (KSM) application. If a firmware update is applicable or available for your product, KSM will indicate this, and the firmware release notes related to the update will be displayed within the application interface. These steps, loosely called "formatting", use some of the memory cells within the device and thus reduce the capacity available for data storage by the end user. Some of the flash storagedevice’s listed capacity is used for formatting and other functions and is notavailable for data storage. Therefore, you will not see the full capacity.Kingston’s A400 solid-state drive dramatically improves the responsiveness of your existing system with incredible boot, loading and transfer times compared to mechanical hard drives. Powered by a latest-gen controller for read and write speeds of up to 500MB/s and 450MB/s , this SSD is 10x faster than a traditional hard drive1 for higher performance, ultra-responsive multi-tasking and an overall faster system. This workaround requires BIOS options to enable or disable RST Control and is not available on all systems Caution! The workarounds below will break RST RAID arrays and could lead to data loss. If your system has RST RAID arrays you should consider an alternate solution. A notification will appear letting you know that the cloning process has started. Once the cloning process completes, close any open applications and shut down the computer when you are ready. Custom made and designed products such as flash memory products with custom logo’s on them. E,g USB flash drives and memory cards with your own logo

A400 is available in multiple drive form factors and capacities from 120GB to 1.92TB to give you all the space you need for applications, videos, photos and other important documents. You can also replace your hard drive or a smaller SSD with a drive big enough to hold all your files. This SSD is designed for use in desktop and notebook computer workloads and is not intended for server environments. 10x faster than a hard drive The cloning process is now complete. When the computer is shut down, you may disconnect the source disk from your computer. Now turn on your computer and you will boot to your Kingston SSD. The V Series puts in an impressive display here, beating the very fast OCZ Vertex drive and clearly proving it’s not all about statistics when it comes to real world performance. That said, the VelociRaptor and Intel SSD are still markedly ahead.Currently the drive is available in just three capacities - 60GB, 120GB and 240GB - with each capacity available in four different options: bare drive, notebook upgrade, desktop upgrade and a combo notebook/desktop upgrade kit. The latter was how Kingston supplied our 120GB review sample. According to Kingston, the 1TB SSDNow KC400 has sequential read/write speeds of up to 550 and 530MB/s respectively, and in the CrystalDiskMark benchmark tests we ran, which measures read and write speeds, the 1TB SSDNow KC400 actually surpassed it with 560.8MB/s read and 536.6MB/s write speeds. For our penultimate test we record how long it takes to bootup, restart, and shutdown our test system. Once again, we see that the V Series holds its own against the competition even beating all before it in the reboot run. The Kingston SSD Manager is not compatible with Mac OS or Linux distributions. Note on USB enclosures With incredible read/write speeds, the A400 SSD will not only increase performance but can also be used to breathe new life into older systems. Rugged
