About this deal

Spit– a little bit of moisture used on finger and thumb which makes it easier to roll fabrics, tie knots etc. Run and fell seam –With wrong sides together, stitch a straight seam, 5/8″ from edge. Trim one seam allowance to 1/4″ and press seam open with both seam allowances to one side with wider seam on top. Fold this wider allowance over trimmed edge and top stitch down along fold. Used in denim jeans.

In practice, there will be many factors in the decision of whether or not to retain a building, including: Feed-dogs– They are the little jagged feet that sit under your presser foot. If you can lift and lower these on your machine you will be able to use your machine for free hand embroidery. Long Stitch– An embroidery/tapestry stitch which can cover from 1 to 12 threads in one stitch. Can be horizontal or vertical and be done with any number of threads or yarn. Start by pinching a few stitches at one end of the seam that you’re unhappy with. Pass the pointy tip of your seam ripper under these stitches and cut them using the sharp bridge in the tool. After you’ve loosen up a few stitches, put the tool away for now and using your hands grab the fabric on both sides of the seam and open the seam a little.Free machine stitching– this means to drop the feed dogs or apply a darning plate then attach a darning foot. Doing this allow you to freely move your project in any direction creating your own free hand design. Below I’ll show you a simpletutorialon how to make the best out of thisessential sewing tool, andripout aseam allowanceor astitchin a blink of an eye! This method works best forcottonfabrics but with a little care you can apply it to delicate fabrics too such as silkor satin. While it does work forknitstoo, I found it harder toripout an entire seam in one go, I had to do it in smaller batches.

Blind Hemming– This is when you turn up the edge of a garment and stitch so they are hidden from the surface/outside of the garment. W hipstitch–Visible stitches, wrapped around two edges, to join them together. Useful for sewing up soft toys.

Bitsy bag– This bag hang from your sewing table by means of an attached pin cushion. The bag is used to put all your bits of threads and little bits of fabric. Saves them going onto the floor. Also you have a pincushion very handy for your pins. Twin Needle– An attachment for your sewing machine that produces parallel rows of decorative stitching in one easy step. F – Fat Quarter –a quarter of a metre of fabric, measuring 18×22″. Mainly used for patchwork but great for other craft projects. Pin Cushion – a place to put pins and needles, available with wrist straps to make them accessible. Other pin cushions have materials to aid sharpening of pins and needle on use.
