About this deal

Kiri is so stubborn, all that happened at the end was her fault. Just because she couldn’t let Spider go with the McCoskers. She put herself, her family, and the entire clan at risk for that (wasting resources, equipment, and maybe lives). It’s not like Spider was going to be in danger, he would have been with the humans, and probably, eventually, he would have escaped and returned to the forest. Because I believe he loves the forest so much that’s what he would have done. Also, she is so useless, Spider has to rescue her ALL THE TIME! PC/Console: Avatar: The Game (2009: PC/360/PS3 · Demo · Wii/PSP · NDS) · Frontiers of Pandora (2023)

During the development process of creating the fourAvatarsequels, a lot of new ideas and stories were created and discussed. One such EPIC original story idea that didn’t make it into the sequels was James Cameron’s original story—“The High Ground.” Cameron shared what he had written with Dark Horse Comics and it is now beingadapted by award-winning author Sherri L. Smith (The Toymaker’s Apprentice,Orleans), and illustrated by Brazilian artist Guilherme Balbi. I’m also very confused with Kiri and her ikran. She was a child! Like Tuk’s age. Did Kiri have her ikran before Neteyam? I thought Neteyam has been the youngest to complete the Iknimaya rite in the whole story of their clan so far. It’s not like they take children to the rite. When Jake got Bob (his ikran), Tsu’tey also took two trainees probably a lot younger than Jake, but they were not children, probably teens, so why is Kiri so young? Ok, this is hilarious, Neytiri is behaving like Spider is that rebel bad boy who is coming to take her saint daughter’s virtue LOL. She is too psychotic. The child is not to blame for the sins of the father. Also, isn’t she been a little too much hypocrite? She is married to Jake, a human, maybe not in body, but he still has his human mind.A third into the book we're in a large gathering of Na'vi when in the center of one panel, as if they're important to the scene, there are suddenly 3 humans dressed like Na'vi (meaning, they stand out very clearly) who we haven't seen before. And then they're never seen again. WTF?! I don't know if this was an art problem or a script problem, but it was weird and confusing. I was undecided in V1 and V2 if High Ground was canon, but now I can say: It’s not. It’s more like a “What If” scenario. What is a trait that Jake can't shake out about being a human? He was a marine. What is the Marines' motto? No man left behind. So how do you expect me to believe that Jake asked Spider THAT? No! Bullshit! But no! I think it worked better in the movie, Neytiri is no marine.

In a council meeting, Jake insists the Na'vi fight and tries to convince Yeyatley to agree, but Yeyatley instead insists the Na'vi offer peace instead. Akwey supports Jake's choice, though before the group can continue debating, it is noticed that Jake's children are gone, with the exception of Neteyam. Jake and Neytiri talk about their upcoming plan to fight the RDA in space. Neteyam does not wish to remain at High Camp, instead wishing to fight, though Jake again declines the offer. As the Sully family prepares to go their own ways, Kiri can not be found. Although Max Patel insists Spider stay with the McCoskers, Kiri insists he come with them to High Camp. Nash McCosker finds the two and tells Miles to go with him. Although Jake and Neytiri think Spider is best with his foster family, Kiri is upset and flees. Because Avatar: The High Ground is ridiculous. It’s over the top, and even implausible at times. Not impossible - it’s reworked from an original James Cameron script, or script idea - but definitely implausible. But that doesn’t make it bad.

Also, I’m just conflicted because it says it’s based on the actual screenplay by James Cameron himself. Does it mean this is canon? With some publishing metadata such as an ISBN remaining in place, the status of the book remained unknown. Dark Horse's next release in the franchise was Avatar: The Next Shadow on January 6th, 2021, a year after the supposed release date of The High Ground. Obviously, the screenplay on which it was based was an early draft of the script. The recom team didn’t seem to be a thing yet. Why? Because V3 put the kids in the forest being chased by bot dogs instead of the recom team, and the last part of V3 is visually almost like the last battle in the Way of Water. I’m glad they rework the script, because here a lot of characters, especially Jake, are so out of character.

Brothers (2017) · Tsu'tey's Path (2019) · The Next Shadow (2021) · Adapt or Die (2022) · The High Ground (2022) · So'lek's Journey (2024) The story stays true to the movie; it is, after all, derived from an original script by James Cameron. This was originally meant to be the beginning of the next movie but instead was turned into a graphic novel prequel with high production values. Finally, I just going to tell you how much I love stupid Jake. He gave the helmet to Neytiri, of course, but his plan was to hold his breath IN SPACE! That’s just plain stupid Jake, badass Jake, lovely Jake, and I just love Jake.

Success!

Speaking of Lo’ak, he’s a cinnamon roll here. He’s looking for Tuk, trying to give some common sense to Kiri, and wanting to be a good son in his father’s eyes. Give him a hug.

Urrgggg! I know Na’vi anatomy can be difficult, but they are copying shots from the movie. I have seen the movie too many times that I recognize all of them! On top of it, it’s very difficult to tell who is who. I have seen fanart comics much better drawn than this. Sorry, I don’t want to disrespect the artists, but they put minimum effort into this. Issue 3 [ ] Jake Sully’s fears have come crashing to Pandora, gun’s blazing. The Sky People are planet-side, and taking Hell’s Gate by storm. Jake and Neytiri’s children are still on base, surrounded and outgunned. He will have to improvise and risk it all to protect his family, his people, and their home. The battle is underway and every Na’vi is in danger.I didn’t like Jake being so obsessed with war before the humans returned. That’s not the vibes I got from the movie (ATWOW). I mean, I get he may be concerned, but seriously they made him sound so paranoiac here. avatar: the high ground, on the other hand, was james cameron’s first pass at an avatar sequel script. it doesn’t appear that cameron altered the trajectory of the sequel for budgetary reasons, but rather due to a combination of just deciding to break the story differently and possibly technological breakthroughs in convincing underwater cgi? regardless, rather than wasting his first script idea, a decision was made to adapt it into a series of three hardcover graphic novels. Plot [ ] Issue 1 [ ] It has been almost a decade since the humans were forced to leave Pandora - but now they're returning - with an armada of heavily-armed starships! After years of peace, Jake Sully has settled down with Neytiri and raised a family, so for him, the stakes are even higher than when he first went to war against the corporate might of the RDA.
