It's important to be patient when treating fake tan stains on bedding. If necessary, repeat the pre-treatment process with either a stain remover or vinegar solution until you see noticeable improvement. Once the stain has been adequately treated, proceed with regular washing and drying as per the care instructions for your bedding. Remember not to use bleach, as it may react with the fake tan chemicals and further damage your bedding. Washing the Bedding Choose Appropriate Settings Work some liquid laundry detergent into the chocolate stain and allow this to rest for about 5 minutes. White vinegar is an effective and inexpensive solution for breaking down the fake tan residue. Create a mixture with equal parts white vinegar and water, and gently dab onto the stained area with a sponge or cloth. Each tanning water will most likely come with individual instructions, however it's often a case of spraying over the skin before lightly blending with a tanning mitt. Of course, it always helps to prep the skin before. We recommend exfoliating your skin and applying moisturiser to any dry areas such as elbows and knees before applying. As the last in our series of food-based stains, sauces, particularly tomato sauces, are also a very common source of stains on bedding. Maybe you were slurping a bit too overzealously on your spaghetti dinner and your bedding has paid the price. Any similar sauce-based food will leave a stain on your bedding that can be challenging to remove.

Use Old Bedding : Use an older set of bedding when tanning, so you won't be concerned about ruining your favourite set. Find an empty container (like a bowl or basin) and place it beneath the red wine stain on the bedding. To effectively remove fake tan stains from bedding, start by applying a stain remover specifically designed for fabric. Apply the stain remover following the manufacturer's instructions. Gently dab the product onto the affected area and allow it to sit for the recommended time. Avoid rubbing the product in, as this can cause the stain to spread or become more deeply ingrained in the fabric. Use Vinegar Solution Don’t be deceived by clear fake tans! While these tans don’t deposit colour immediately, they will transfer onto clothes, bedding, and towels just like instant tans.
