About this deal

Before beginning your Harry Potter inspired journey, there are some materials you must gather. We started this project using the Digilent Robotic Box Monster Kit, which included our white box and other goodies for later use. While this instructable will only feature the creation of our Monster Book of Monster exterior, stay tuned for a follow up instructable using the included Box Monster Kit electronics. Undead Fortitude. If damage reduces the inferius to 0 hit points, it must make a Constitution saving throw with a DC of 5 + the damage taken, unless the damage is from a critical hit. On a success, the inferius drops to 1 hit point instead. Actions Death Gaze. If a creature can see the basilisk's eyes and starts its turn within 60 feet of the basilisk, the creature must make a DC 14 Dexterity saving throw to attempt to avert its gaze. If the saving throw fails by 5 or more, the creature looks directly into the basilisk's eyes and instantly dies. Otherwise, a creature that fails the save catches the gaze of the basilisk indirectly and is petrified until freed by a Mandrake Restorative Draught. Powerful Build. The phoenix is considered a Large creature for the purpose of determining its carrying capacity and the weight it can push, drag, or lift. Actions

Dark Entities. Dementors are believed to be formed from the negative emotions of humans, much like poltergeists. Dementors grow like fungi in dark places filled with decay. Large groups of them will be surrounded by a freezing mist that rolls across the countryside like fog, affecting entire populations with their negative energy. Frightful Presence. Each creature of the dragon's choice that is within 120 feet and aware of it must succeed on a DC 15 Wisdom saving throw or become frightened for 1 minute. A creature can repeat the saving throw at the end of each of its turns, ending the effect on itself on a success. If a creature's saving throw is successful or the effect ends for it, the creature is immune to the dragon's Frightful Presence for the next 24 hours. The dragon can take 3 legendary actions, choosing from the options below. Only one legendary action option can be used at a time and only at the end of another creature's turn. The dragon regains spent legendary actions at the start of its turn. Centaur – A creature whose head and upper torso resembles a humans but lower body including the four legs and tail resembles a horse.Warner Brothers online shop offers an electronic-plush version of the Monster Book of Monsters. There is also a version of the Monster Book of Monsters available at The Wizarding World of Harry Potter as a novelty toy. Hippogriff – A creature that is part-eagle, part-horse. Wizards can own them provided they cast a daily Disillusionment Charm on them. Ghosts play an important secondary role, mainly as advisors to the leading characters. Unlike the ghosts in a traditional ghost story, these ghosts are neither frightening nor necessarily ghoulish. Ghosts in the novels appear silvery and translucent. They can fly and pass through walls, tables, and other solid objects, but nonetheless have some ability to physically affect, and be affected by, the living world. ( Moaning Myrtle, for instance, can splash the water in her toilet. [HP2]) Ghosts' banquet tables are laden with rotten food, as the decomposition increases their ability to smell and taste it. [HP2] Touching or walking through a ghost induces a sensation "like walking through an icy shower." [HP2] Ghosts can be affected by magic and curses, though not to the same degree that living beings can. [HP2] Thunderbird – An American bird-like creature mainly found in Arizona with the power to cause thunderstorms.

Fire Breath (Recharge 5-6). The dragon exhales fire in a 30-foot cone. Each creature in that area must make a DC 21 Dexterity saving throw, taking 63 (18d6) fire damage on a failed save, or half as much damage on a successful one.First look at Deathly Hallows props including 'Life and Lies', 'A History of Magic', more" from MuggleNet (archived on the Internet Archive here) Magical creatures are an aspect of the fictional Wizarding World contained in the Harry Potter series and connected media originally created by British author J. K. Rowling. Throughout the seven main books of the series, Harry and his friends encounter many of these creatures on their adventures in Hogwarts, the Forbidden Forest, or other locations throughout the Wizarding World. In addition, students learn to take care of creatures such as hippogriffs and unicorns in the Care of Magical Creatures class at Hogwarts. Rowling has also written Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, a guide to the magical beasts found in the series, and based on the fictional textbook of the same name written by Newt Scamander and used by students at Hogwarts. Evasion. If the diricawl is subjected to an effect that allows it to make a Dexterity saving throw to take only half damage, the diricawl instead takes no damage if it succeeds on the saving throw, and only half damage if it fails. Actions Hogwarts has a herd in the nearby Forbidden Forest and primarily uses them to pull the carriages that transport students to and from the Hogsmeade train station. They are introduced to Care of Magical Creatures students in the fifth year by Hagrid in the same year that Harry becomes able to see them after witnessing the death of Cedric Diggory, some months after it occurred. Harry only sees these beasts after he sees Cedric die, yet it is stated (in both the books and the films) that he witnessed his mother die in front of him at the age of one; therefore he logically should have been able to see them throughout the entire series, or should have started seeing them at the start of the summer holidays of that year. When asked about this discrepancy, Rowling responded that when Harry saw his mother die, he was young and did not fully understand the meaning of death and what had happened. When he saw Cedric die, he fully understood what had happened, and had time to think about it before he returned to Hogwarts and saw the Thestrals for the first time. [28]
