Always remember to empty out the refrigerator between trips one when storing your vehicle – food items left in the fridge for long periods could contaminate the unit. After disconnecting and defrosting, clean the fridge using a soft cloth and warm (not hot), weak solution of bicarbonate of soda. Finally, wipe over with a cloth and plain water and finish with a dry cloth. If something has left a strong odour in the fridge which washing alone cannot shift, try making a paste out of the bicarbonate of soda and water, and smear this in the refrigerator and leave overnight. Because of safety risks, it is strongly recommended that you do not operate on bottled gas whilst on tow. A naked flame is prohibited at petrol stations, motorway service areas and in most tunnels. Excessive time to cool on gas and 230v at full power setting 5 even in cool ambient temperatures. Does not cool to between 0 and 4 degrees on power setting 3 or 4 at all. Temperature rises when moving from setting 3 to 5 e.g. From 2 degrees to 9 degrees over 3 hours @ 18 degree ambient. A +1 for De-Ox powder and Gell from me for my old motorbike and other rusty stuff, however I also use Citric Acid ( the base ingredient of De-Ox ) and cheaper, it just takes a bit longer, it's none toxic and can be tipped down a drain. Cooling on gas instead of mains makes no difference to rate of cooling or maintenance of temperatures. Caravan refrigerators can be operated on both types of LPG but it is important that the gas pressure shown on the data plate corresponds with your gas regulator. Note - user instructions state that you should use power setting 3 (medium) in ambient temperatures of between 15 and 25 degrees to maintain safe food storage temperatures of 0-4 degrees.I also use Sodium Carbonate and electrolysis for large or heavily rusted bits, I find it is better for such as nuts and bolts rusted together or steel components rusted together but it would be a bit over the top with shelves.
