About this deal

Yes absolutely. No chance of any leaking blood down your legs, any escaped strings. I do find that some water leaks into the cup which comes out when the cup is removed. This is fine and if you weren't wearing a cup water would get into your vagina anyway. I always empty my cup after swimming. Full Details In Our Article "Can I Go Swimming With A Cup?" Can I exercise with my menstrual cup in?

Saalt started with a phone call Cherie made to an aunt in Venezuela, where pads and tampons had not been available in stores for years. She immediately thought of her daughters and what she would do if she found herself in the same situation. The dependence she and others had on disposables kept her up at night. Sustainable - One Saalt Cup lasts for up to 10 years and replaces thousands of single-use period products. (Wonder how much waste you can eliminate by switching? Try our Waste Calculator to find out!) Healthy - A Saalt Cup is made from 100% medical-grade silicone, so it’s naturally hypoallergenic and toxin free. No BPA. No latex. Odor free and non-toxic. Maintains natural pH. Choose a different fold. Sometimes something as simple as changing the fold will help the cup to open easier. You can also try changing the direction the fold is facing during insertion. Keeps you comfortable. With options ranging from cozy to silky, the body fabric keeps you feeling fresh and ready to take on the day (or night!).

Ethically made. From fabric to finishes, Saalt Wear supports ethical sourcing and manufacturing processes. Our ethically-made fabrics are made in a renowned factory that provides housing, medical care, safe water, and college scholarships for their seamstresses and workers.

Drying your Saalt Wear in the dryer will break down the elastane in your underwear faster contributing to side leaking. The leg holes of your underwear must fit snugly around your legs. We recommend always hanging your Saalt Wear to dry. To understand how long your Saalt Wear will perform for you, we recommend trying them at home first. Having a good understanding of how much your current liners or tampons hold will help you know how long your Saalt Wear will perform for you. Example: one regular tampon holds 5 mL (1 tsp) fluid. If you go through 4 regular tampons in one day, one heavy absorbency Saalt Wear, or two regular absorbency pairs of Saalt Wear should support you. After your period, rinse your menstrual disc in cold water first to help avoid discoloration and odor. Then wash thoroughly using our all-natural Saalt Wash or hot water and mild soap. Avoid strong cleaners or anything that may irritate your skin if not completely washed off. Use a soft rag to wipe away any buildup. Then sanitize your disc by placing it in a pot of boiling water for 4–5 minutes (but not more than 7 min). Use tongs or a whisk to make sure the disc doesn’t rest on the bottom of the pot. When boiling your disc is not an option, you may sanitize it by rinsing it with water and then thoroughly wiping your disc (and all its nooks and crannies) with a soft rag and 70% isopropyl alcohol. Allow the alcohol to evaporate and you’re good to go! Absolutely NOT. I have never been able to use tampons I just can't get them in right, too drying and irritating on putting in and removing, I can always feel them. However with a cup from the very first time it was perfect. Easy to get in and doesn't need to be positioned high as tampons. Pinch the base of the cup and rotate it to get it to fully open. This may be a few short twists or a full 360 degree rotation.

Also try inserting one finger alongside the cup and press in to break the seal. If possible, try hooking that one finger at the rim of the cup to help bring it lower. If the menstrual disc is positioned incorrectly, it can put pressure on your urethra, bladder, or rectum. It may feel like you have to urinate often, have a weak urine stream, or need to have a bowel movement. Regardless of where the pressure is, adjusting the position of the disc should help relieve this pressure. The rim of the disc should rest on your pubic bone. When inserting your disc, be sure to insert at a horizontal angle, pointed toward your tailbone, to match the natural slant of your vaginal canal. When the disc is halfway inserted, aim the disc downward toward the floor or toilet water to ensure it goes behind the cervix. Many people find that it helps to use their thumb to secure the rim of their disc behind their pubic bone. The shorter length and different angle of the thumb can make a huge difference. Saalt Menstrual Cups are a healthy and sustainable alternative to pads and tampons that are better for you and better for the planet. Cups come in different sizes so change frequency is also influenced by the capacity of the cup. Read our full article "How Often To Empty Your Menstrual Cup." Can I put a menstrual cup in before my period starts? Fabric softener repels fluid. A build-up of fabric softener on your Saalt Wear will prohibit the gusset from performing.

The Leakproof Lace & Mesh collection has our Lace Hipster and Thong styles that are made for your light flow days and hold 1–2 light tampons (~ 1 tsp or 3–6 ml) worth of flow. Our Mesh Hipster, Bikini, High Waist Brief and French Cut styles are made for your regular flow days and hold 2–3 regular tampons (2–3 tsp or 10–15 ml) worth of flow. Heavy absorbency options in the Lace & Mesh Collection include our heavy absorbency Mesh Hipster, High Waist Brief, and French Cut High Waist holding 3-4 regular tampons (3–4 tsp or 15–20 ml) worth of flow. The menstrual disc rests in the vaginal fornix (aka the space around the cervix), unlike cups or tampons which sit in the vaginal canal. When positioned correctly, it should fit comfortably and be leak free. It’s natural and normal for the cervix to change position throughout the cycle, so you may find that the position of your disc can change slightly from day to day. For some people with strong pelvic muscles or a high cervix, the disc may naturally find its way higher during use, which isn’t a problem as long as you don’t experience discomfort. Bear down on the cup, as if having a bowel movement, as you press upward on the base of the cup to keep it in place. Many people find that they can wear either size comfortably, but one size may suit your anatomy better than the other. If you’re unsure of which size to choose, it is helpful to know your cervix height. To measure your cervix height, follow these steps: First, the Saalt Cup + Saalt Wear dynamic duo is our favorite way to period. Why? Because it provides a fully reusable solution to replace both tampons and pads that is better for our bodies and the planet. I sat down on a bench in my bathroom for easy access, folded the sides using the c-fold method with one hand, parted my labia with the other hand, pushed the cup inside, and that was that! I did feel the cup pop into place, but nothing was painful about the whole process. Per the Saalt instructions, I also rotated the cup once it was in to make sure it was secure and fully opened. It took about 15 minutes to adjust to the sensation, but throughout the day, I felt nothing. I was able to go to the gym, work at my desk, take a shower, and even ride my bike without feeling any pain. The Results
