About this deal

This mic served as a great temporary replacement for my Rode Podmic mic. And to be able to use this both Xlr and Usb is a nice bonus. More mics need to do that but at the price the Samson Q2U offers it. I use this xlr because I already have a Focusrite but Usb sounds really good too! Both mics capture quality audio that can stand up to more expensive mics, but we think the Q2U produces a slightly more resonant, fuller sound than audio from an ATR2100x and a better tonal quality – especially for the value.

The Samson Q2U is one of the most popular microphones for new and experienced podcasters. Ask any podcast community for a mic recommendation and someone will mention the Q2U.Bought this mic 6 months ago and haven't regretted the investment. I use the XLR output for recording and USB for calls with clients or teaching orkshops. It works great both ways and I really appreciate the noise rejection (my cat especially). Buy the Audio-Technica ATR2100 if you want to start podcasting, but you know you will be on the move more; this is the mic for you. Easily portable with excellent noise reduction, you’ll be able to record anything and everything you encounter while on your feet. The Samson Q2U microphone is often called the Swiss Army knife of podcast mics because of its versatility and budget price point. We tend to agree, and in our opinion, it's the best value out there.

This is the microphone that I bought a few weeks ago for my podcast, and boy, do I love it! I was thinking about getting the Audio Technica ATR 2100, but upon hearing both in a side by side test on a YouTube video, my ears liked this one better, and I must say that I am not at all disappointed. The XLR version was recorded into a Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 USB audio interface. I’ve applied no post-processing, normalisation, noise-reduction, etc, to the files. Samson Q2U Alternatives Conversely, the SM58 is marketed as a stage performance microphone, and with its built-in features, it performs outstandingly in live performances. If your main reason for purchasing a mic is to do studio recording or conduct live performances, this is the most appropriate mic for you. We recommend the stage performance kit for beginners, which contains the mic, a mic stand plus a mic clip, a storage bag, and an XLR cable. The accompanying accessories are perfect for live performances and studio recordings. Design and Features Connecting Cables Samson Q2U Mic Open up your recording software and select the mic as your input. It should automatically show up in your software's input options. XLR setup (for mixers and interfaces)Most new podcasters prefer the USB microphone connection because it’s simple and lets you dive right into producing content. We like the Q2U because the XLR connection lets you grow as a podcaster without replacing your microphone right away. If an item can not be repaired, a similar alternative product or cash discount (as defined in this policy) will be offered

With both USB and XLR ports, you can use them concurrently as a reassuring safety net to ensure any breaks do not affect the recording. There’s very little in it between the Q2U, the ATR2100, and the Maono AU-HD300T. I go into more detail in the post I’ve linked to there. When you need a more professional setup, like connecting to an audio interface or mixer, the XLR cable allows you to do so easily. You may find people talking about how these two microphones are essentially the same product and that it doesn’t matter which one you choose. Still, there are some differences between the two models. Let’s take a look at them. The kits Une fois bien calibré le timbre de voix dépasse la qualité du bird UM1 mais il est tellement inconsistant dans le volume de la voix selon comment vous vous placez qu'au final je ne peux le conseiller. The Samson Q2U is a popular entry-level microphone among podcasters and Buzzsprout's top recommendation for new podcasters.

If you want something that is slightly cheaper than the already cheap and ubiquitous SM58, this is perfect. I will be the first to admit that I am not the most tech savvy person, which is crazy for someone starting a podcast. Collection and delivery costs are included for the first 2 years in the event of an item becoming faulty XLR connections let you plug into a sound system that applies your preamp effects and feeds into your computer. Let's say you have the Focusrite Scarlet 2i2 audio interface. To use the Q2U with this device, you'd plug in the XLR cable to the mic and plug the interface into your computer via USB.In terms of sound quality, some users feel the Q2U is sensitive to plosives. In our experience, any unwanted sensitivity is easily corrected with a pop-filter. Samson Q2U vs. Audio Technica's ATR2100x
