About this deal

The Hive Tyrant can be equipped with a variety of grotesque bio-weapons for melee and ranged combat, allowing you to build a monster adapted to dealing with any foe. You can even build the kit as a Winged Hive Tyrant – or the fearsome Swarmlord. Not only that but this bumper boxed set is fantastic for experienced Tyranid players who are looking to bulk out there swarm with a swarm of fresh fodder. To add to this boxed set, we’re going to add a few extra units that’ll give you something different to paint and expand your synapse. In addition (what a phrase) he’s a two power psyker and ignores the first damaging hit in combat. In a 1,000 point game he’s definitely going to be a target. Tyranid Prime None of the options will set the world alight, but they allow the Warriors to hold some more distant objectives but still contribute to killing the enemy. Plus… they are Assault weapons so you can move and shoot. Termagaunts

I use these for the ranged threat… so Venom Cannon and Deathspitters are my choice — but of course you can make your own choice if you prefer different load-outs. Games Workshop via WahapediaThe new Tyranid Combat Patrol will be out soon, but the Aeldari, Grey Knights, and Thousand Sons boxes are coming even sooner. We’ll be taking a look at some of the rules from the Tyranid codex as we build up to its release – sign up for our newsletter to get all of the updates, and grab a Tyranids mug to wash down all the biomass you’ll be devouring. Games Workshop’s recent pricing adjustments just went into effect this week. That means a bunch of the old kits went up in price. That also means that the former pricing structures might not be exactly the same any more. We’re in the Wild West of pricing from GW now…or something to that effect. If the Wild West was about a 5% increase of pricing across the board. Now that I write that out, maybe that’s a bad analogy. Oh well — let’s get to the Tyranid Combat Patrol pricing breakdown. Welcome to the Tyranids! This is part of the issue with list building for them. They have a lot of really fun and thematic options that you might not get to run all of them in a single list. If you’re a new player this can honestly be overwhelming. But, again, the Combat Patrol is something you can build from as you add models to your collection. And you’re always going to have too many ‘gaunts. That’s just how it works. There are so many ways you can diverge from this Combat Patrol…but we have to stop somewhere. Rippers are also getting a new model set of models. On the plus side these should fit in very nicely with any of the older models you might have so blending the new and old will be easy.

If you want to go for a more psyker-heavy force then the Neurotyrant is the one for you! Flanked by a pair of “neurolyds” (we’re guessing on the spelling here) this creature is a psychic powerhouse and is very in tune with the Shadow in the Warp. The Tyranids are getting a new Combat Patrol and we know what’s in the box — so what’s the pricing going to be? Let’s find out! The Biovore has a new spring in its step and is ready to launch Spore Mines all over your next battlefield. These indirect fire platforms have long been the Hive Mind’s answer to distant foes, and you can also build them as flame-spewing Pyrovores to turn long-range shooting into close-quarters dominance. Combat Patrol: Tyranids There are more Faction Focuses coming soon to Warhammer Community, alongside more information about the game modes that will define the new edition of Warhammer 40,000. This is the definitive companion for all Tyranid players, replacing the Index with a fully fleshed-out collection of exciting Detachment rules, glorious miniature showcases, and fascinating lore. These rules, shaped by in-depth testing that saw old veterans and brand new Warhammer 40,000 players test their mettle against each other over many, many games, result in a mode of play that’s simple at first glance, yet full of depth. To keep things balanced, the weapons options for the units have been fixed for all the Combat Patrol datasheets, so there’s no need to fret about your character and unit equipment prior to a game. You don’t need to worry about which guns to give your Chaos Space Marine Havocs, for example.

Tyranid Combat Patrol Packs In The Biomass Warhammer 40K: New Tyranid Combat Patrol Packs In The Biomass

Every self-respecting Hive Tyrant needs a swarm to command, and the Combat Patrol box provides you with a whopping 36 Termagants (plus three Ripper Swarms). Even the renowned tactician Roboute Guilliman has to concede that quantity has a quality all of its own. Broodlord [7 PL, 125pts]: Power: Catalyst, Power: Smite, Relic: Adaptive Neural Lobe, Warlord, Warlord Trait: Strategic Adaptation The majority of datasheets have been modified, both to adapt units that would be overpowered in this format, but also to slim down more complex units to one defining rule and ensure players can master the key abilities of their units before discovering their full potential in larger games. Leading the force into battle is mighty Hive Tyrant.** This terrifying leader-beast is a literal combat monster, who can use insidious telepathic abilities to support the CORE units in your army – such as the Tyranid Warriors and Termagants that accompany it in the box. Clearly, all part of the Hive Mind’s design… That brings us up to 1600 points + wargear. These units provide us some potent psyker offensive options. But I think we need something that’s more of a deep threat. How deep? I’m thinking under-the-ground deep. Time to call in a Trygon. As a fun aside, GW also showed off the new creature vs an old Zoanthrope as a comparison point. They have a very similar head!

This is our first of 3 HQ choices – perhaps overkill but we need the synapse – and he’s a close combat monster. This kit will allow you to assemble a Hive Tyrant, or a winged Hive Tyrant instead but with all the Termagaunts, who doesn’t want this hunk of awesome to lead them. Games Workshop via Wahepedia The Hormagaunts have been refreshed with incredible new sculpts. Few opponents can stand up to a seemingly endless tide of chittering teeth and claws, and as an added bonus you get a single Ripper Swarm with each box to form into an even smaller, meaner unit. Biovore To celebrate this groundbreaking trilogy, all three books – Dark Apostle , Dark Disciple , and Dark Creed – are now collected in one beautifully presented special edition boxed set. Bound in maroon cloth covers with foil details, they are held in a classically decorated sleeve – but with only 1,000 signed and numbered copies available, you’ll need to secure yours fast. The Rose in Darkness Every faction’s army rules will remain largely the same – Tyranids retain Shadow in the Warp and Synapse , for example – but each Combat Patrol features Enhancements unique to this game mode to let you tweak your WARLORD and try out new strategies. So this is more of a niche choice, but he’s here because I’ve got a unit of 5 Tyranid Warriors so I’ve got one left over. Just ensure he’s obviously different, watch your opponent panic and get the rest of the army in. Seriously he’s just a Primaris Captain for the ‘Nids and they are ten a penny. However he makes a great painting opportunity and a good model to practice on before you do the Swarmlord. Tervigon I am new to 40K and getting started with some old Tyranid miniatures I owned as well as a few new ones. I would like to start by making a Combat Patrol and trying a small game locally. I created the list below and I wanted to know what you think. I have a few other units I can substitute, I have 8 more Genestealers, 10 Devourer Gaunts, lots of Hormagaunts, and also a Tyrannofex with Acid Spray. My plan with Strategic Adaptation was to have the Trygon and Genestealers start in reserve. Then the Trygon would bring in the Genestealers from deep strike. Warriors will try to get objectives with Gaunts to screen them. I am worried the Trygon is taking up too many points for a Combat Patrol.
