The language, the interaction between the characters, the regis rolls, Poe. It just seemed like the same thing over and over. Pretend we’re engaged. Smile for pretty photos like we’re soulmates. Dress up like we’re actually getting married. How Jenn and Miles meet is a funny and somewhat embarrassing meet cute and the two of them have a insta-love hate moment. The attraction is there with the sparks are flying, but these two started off on the wrong foot, which only adds fuel to the fire as enemies. And when they start to work together, their enemy status slowly changes to something like friends to lovers. It’s only when a certain playing card enters, that makes Miles realize what he really wants and the caveman in him wants to mark his territory and claim her as his own. These two are hot and cold with one another and the games they play make things complicated and blur the lines and intentions. But once they give into that pull and their need for one another, the fireworks go off. There are steamy moments and smexy scenes that will get you all hot and bothered so have your fan ready. The word kitten definitely has a different meaning to me now after reading this book.The "witty banter" was in fact, not witty at all. It was a bit cringe-inducing and to be honest, if I had a new hire speak to me the way Poe continued to speak to Lincoln, she would've been fired the first week. I tired of the cinnamon roll jokes in the first two chapters as well as the constant references to her last name, Poe. Dakota Poe, twenty-four, has a lot of attitude. The jaded blonde beauty has a super sweet side, but she also has a strong feisty streak that won’t be tamed. That might be especially true in the last year. She recently moved to Seattle and hopes to make it her forever home. She comes from Dallas, North Dakota. Many of Dallas’s younger folks eventually move away to bigger cities, but until last spring, Dakota had hoped to stay. She had plans until Jay Foyt broke her heart and forever crushed her dreams of a happily ever after. He never showed up on their wedding day. She was abandoned and humiliated, and in a small town, that is hard to live down. She no longer believes in love, so she is working on her career. She pounced on the opportunity when presented with a job offer in Seattle, but the pay leaves something to be desired and the work is not rewarding. She is therefore looking for something better.

What I didn't like? The weirdo meet up and the cinnamon bun fiasco that continued to be an annoying part of the story until the very end. The FMC was pissed that the MC wanted to buy the last cinnamon roll from her - since she bought the last one at the bakery that day. Sure, he was a bit jerky, but the FMC made a huge deal about this and basically hated him for the next 30% of the book based on that first interaction. Super strange and I was pretty annoyed by that whole storyline.

Her mother walked out ten years ago, leaving Piper to step up as a substitute mother figure for her sister Maisy, who was just seven at the time, as well as look out for her ailing father. Piper can’t be away from home for long since someone needs to look after their father. Rather than take a 9 to 5 job and be tied down every day, she has used her resourcefulness to make her own way in the world. She earned a bachelor’s degree in media relations and put her knowledge to work. She combines her brains and beauty, building channels and marketing her content. As a social media influencer, she gets paid to do what she loves – travel. I found her on Booksprout and received the ARC for this book so I thought it was a perfect way to see what I thought about her writing and I am in love with her style! While Oh My 😱, how I loved Miles, he is such a wounded bear, lashing out because he is in pain all the while being a real softy inside. We didn't exactly hit it off when he showed up with an offer to buy my land and my hyperactive dogs yanked my robe open right in front of him. Nonetheless, I really really liked this. It hits all the office romance marks. I like the main characters, but in the way I would expect these office romance vibes to pan out. Objectively, Lincoln is a bit of a garbage can. But I loved the way this panned out, it delivered all the drama and angst I could want, and I will 100% look for more books by this author.The perfect amount of comedy, love (& 🌶️) and comfort from each character in a perfectly well written book! There are no triggers in this book, but it does mention the loss of loved ones, grief, mental illness, and recreational drugs. There are no explicit details on these topics, but I just wanted to mention these in case. I recently lost a grandparent and this book hit close to home for me. Not going to lie, I teared up in this book and some moments really gripped my heart strings that made me think of all my loved ones that have passed before me. Miles Cromwell, thirty-five, isn’t known for being warm and fuzzy. He has had a few women in his time, but he doesn’t see himself settling down. Miles took over for his father years ago, and he works diligently to continue to grow the company and keep atop market trends. Unfortunately, his marketing department struggles to get out of the corporate mindset and isn’t keeping pace with new ideas in marketing, so getting traction in social media is an area that needs work. He offers so much she couldn't refuse. Their chemistry sizzles from beginning but work plus other things get in their way.

This is a looooong book filled with lots of interesting writing and plot points about the two main characters to create a well developed story which I will love re-reading. I highly recommend reading this book and finding more by this author. You won't regret it!. This story continues in the same vane as these two cannot seem to leave each other alone in terms of annoying repartee. But behind the feistiness and smart arse comments Dakota and Lincoln are both healing tortured hearts caused by their respective ex Fiancés. I don't know how Ms. Snow manages to do it time and again: with each new book, I think, "Wow! This just can't be surpassed!", and each time Ms. Snow proves me wrong. This author is just incredible, as is her talent for portraying the most horrible, grumpy, grouchy billionaire boss in such a way that you inevitably fall in love with this guy. Even if you hated him so much before. Even if he broke the heroine's heart for the umpteenth time, in an attempt to protect her from herself and keep her from harm. Even if he acts like the ultimate jerk, unable to communicate his deep feelings for the love of his life, and one misunderstanding follows the next ...This book was more than just Enemy to lovers. This had office romance, sexy neighbor, grandmother interference, grumpy billionaire and sunshine.
