About this deal

As is the case with a lot of monitor stands, you can keep all your cables tidy by threading everything through a circular cut out The design makes the Dell U2419H ideal for multi-monitor setups since you have less plastic sitting in between each screen. The monitor is also built with a DisplayPort Out MST slot so you can easily daisy chain multiple units without too much clutter. Dell UltraSharp U2419H is equipped with a 60Hz Full HD panel. Its diagonal is 23.8″ (60.5 cm), and the resolution 1920 x 1080 pixels. The screen ratio is 16:9, and we are looking at a pixel density of – 93 ppi, and a pitch of 0.27 х 0.27 mm. The screen turns into Retina when viewed at distance equal to or greater than 94 cm (31.5″) (from this distance one’s eye stops differentiating the separate pixels). The Dell U2419H doesn’t support FreeSync or G-Sync compatibility, so you cannot rely on it to work with your GPU to smoothen out games. Input lag is low at 10ms for a 60Hz monitor, but we can only recommend this monitor for casual gaming purposes. Thoughts on the Dell U2419H Strong viewing angles and respectable colour space coverage means that for basic photo work – editing holiday snaps and the like – the Dell UltraSharp 24 Monitor U2419H will suffice, but it’s by no means intended for professional photo or video editing.

Build quality for the Dell U2419H is solid like many of the brand’s monitors. The mechanisms are smooth, while the plastics feel durable and without any visible cosmetic defect. Once the chassis has latched onto the stand, you can leave it like that and rest assured that it will stand stable permanently. I'd been using dual screens via an extended desktop for some time, but wanted a pair of larger screens so set about looking into the right ones and choose these. i am glad I did becuase; The Dell U2419H’s size is the last bastion of enjoying the limited sharpness of a full HD resolution. The pixel density is still reasonable at a little over 91PPI, but you will start seeing the pixels if you look close enough. What’s great about it, however, is its not too demanding on GPUs, plus you won’t need to use scaling when reading a wall of text. It’s a Full HD display (1920 x 1080) and is set to this by default when you power it on for the first time. Getting used to the U2419H’s menus takes next to no time at all Dell UltraSharp 24 Display – A dull affairSchnell noch mit den Kabeln für Grafik, Strom und den eingebauten USB-Hub verbinden und los ging es. Noch ein bisschen justieren. Er ist höhenverstellbar, drehbar, kippbar und kann sogar im Hochformat genutzt werden. Die Kabel lassen sich durch eine Öffnung im Ständer führen. The Dell U2419H isn’t a gaming monitor and it has a limited refresh rate, so you can’t expect a blur-free performance. The Fast mode which pushes the response time to its 5ms spec is helpful, but it cannot clean up some of the smudges you will see in fast-paced sequences. Colour uniformity is pretty good here, too. As you can see from the grid below, only one spot on the panel exhibited lower than average levels of brightness. The resolution is 'correct' - The screens support Full HD (1920 x 1080) and this is good for a couple of reasons - One, my Dell 7400 will support this as a maximum resolution and that matters because naturally you sit close to monitors (unlike a TV) so you need it to be right. Secondly I looked at various sizes and these monitors are scaled correct for FHD. I also looked at 27 inch but not only was this more expensive in my opinion you would need 4k resolution from your pc to ensure this scaled correctly.

Work perfectly with my MacBook (2019) and windows Razer Blade Stealth (2020). These can be swivelled 180 degrees to show portrait views and have sharp colour settings. However, Dell is trying to win you with its supposed 99% of sRGB coverage and accurate colors, resulting in an average dE of below 2.0. Indeed, this sounds impressive but we can’t be really sure if we don’t put it through our series of tests (which we surely will). The Dell U2419H is an affordable IPS monitor if you are looking for a candidate that is fully adjustable and ideal for multi-display setups. However, its imaging performance is a few notches below what we expected for an UltraSharp monitor which is usually pre-calibrated. The IPS panel did not have any leaks, but its low contrast ratio made the screen look less vibrant and grayish. While 27-inches are great for large desks and a decent gaming setup, the 24-inch monitors are still very good for home use, or even at your office. Here we have the Dell UltraSharp U2419H – аn (almost) 24″ monitor with Full HD resolution and 60Hz refresh rate. At first glance at the specs, you see nothing too impressive about it.

Still, we’ve included other color spaces like the famous DCI-P3 standard used by movie studios, as well as the digital UHD Rec.2020 standard. Rec.2020, however, is still a thing of the future and it’s difficult for today’s displays to cover that well. We’ve also included the so-called Michael Pointer gamut, or Pointer’s gamut, which represents the colors that naturally occur around us every day. We measured a maximum brightness of 225 nits in the middle of the screen and 210 nits as an average for the whole area, with a maximum deviation of 11%. The Dell U2419H is a budget-friendly 1080p IPS monitor that promises excellent image quality for mixed-use in the home or office. The Ultrasharp line is popular for its pre-calibrated product line with good to fantastic color fidelity. However, the Dell U2419H sits at the entry-level of that portfolio, so let’s see if it offers great value. Dell U2419H Specifications On a more positive note, colour space coverage tests – performed with the same equipment and software but with the screen brightness set to 150 nits – gave me scores that are about the standard you should expect from a display these days. However, they are far south of the 99% and 85% sRGB and DCI-P3 coverage promised:

Details and contrast look great, and the IPS function gives you great color saturation and accuracy at wider viewing angles; though since folks tend to sit much closer to a computer monitor than a television, viewing angles aren't that extreme to begin with. But if you're using the Dell Ultrasharp 24 as a second or even third display off to the side, you won't have to worry about having to sit just right or needing to constantly adjust the screen tilt and swivel to get the perfect picture. Dell’s finer models have excellent connectivity options, and the Dell U2419H isn’t an exception. The down-firing layout at the rear includes DisplayPort 1.4, HDMI 1.4, and the DP Out MST mentioned above. There is also a total of five USB 3.0 slots on the device, with two more on the side that has a fast-charging output for your devices. What’s great about the Dell U2419H is you do get a well-designed display at a reasonable price. But that’s the only good thing that this model can offer, unlike the Dell P2419H which fared better in imaging tests. There are a lot of competitive options out there, so we recommend shopping around first before going with this model. The next figure shows how well the display is able to reproduce really dark parts of an image, which is essential when watching movies or playing games in low ambient light. By the way, it is great to see that Dell doesn’t use PWM to adjust the brightness of its display. Another great feature is the ergonomic stand. It offers swivel, tilt and pivot movement, as well as height adjustment. Not only this is good in terms of comfortability, but it is extremely useful for programmers and data specialists, that can utilize the vertical real estate. Great feature: The USB ports on the side of the monitors sync with the computer, for example, when I connected my usb capture card (which is connected to my Sony camera via micro hdmi) to my monitors external USB port the capture card / camera was detected on my laptop - a pleasant change as most USB ports are charge only. This may be linked to the fact they have DisplayPort to USB connections or the fact they’re USB 3.0. I also recorded a colour temperature of 6934K, which is slightly cooler/bluer than the target 6500K that most closely resembles natural light.
