Oud oil from high-quality, wild Laotian wood is difficult, if not impossible, to source, so most Laotian oils on the market are actually distilled from plantation wood. Top notes are Truffle, Gardenia, Black Currant, Ylang-Ylang, Jasmine, Bergamot, Mandarin Orange and Amalfi Lemon; middle notes are Orchid, Spices, Gardenia, Fruity Notes, Ylang-Ylang, Jasmine and Lotus; base notes are Mexican chocolate, Patchouli, Vanille, Incense, Amber, Sandalwood, Vetiver and White Musk. Just wish I'd have done that with Stronger With You Leather (what I was expecting here) and 24 Gold (what this reminds me of. There is no other way to guarantee you are getting a pure oud oil, or an attar containing pure oud oil. It will be recognizable to anybody who has ever worn a commercial oud-based perfume, with choices ranging from Versace Oud, Rose d’Arabie (Armani Prive), and Black Aoud (Montale) to Rose Oud (By Kilian) and Rose Gold Oudh (Tiziana Terenzi).

What I can say is that I put 4 sprays on at lunchtime, I’ve since had a shower and put a completely different body lotion on. It is dark, gothic, earthy, slightly sweet floral, none apologetic, it is an elegant scent but it is hard to comprehend. This suggests that oud distillation and harvesting may be poorly managed in Malaysia, resulting in a shortage of good quality or even interesting Malaysian oud oils on the market. Folks new to the artisanal oud scene are on a learning curve where details aren’t clear cut but do matter.I've had it since 2015, but this scent just gets better with time, both on the skin and in the bottle, and for me the chocolate-truffle notes came out more after having the bottle a few years.

I had hugely high, even unrealistic expectations about this one to the point I was preparing to be disappointed and it’s not!I don't really get any of the white florals notes in the opening unfortunately and more the truffle, the black currant berries and the ylang ylang. I wore this today in 50 degree weather which is cold in Houston, Texas and this blend is so damn amazing! It’s pretty easy to find SWY Leather where I’m from so this is, for me half of that and half of Intensely. Based on its notes and reading lots of reviews on it for years;I blind-bought it few days ago and it was love at first sniff for me. Majestic Gold's patchouli base very much resembles Caramac's distinctive smell and in the beginning it is accompanied by floral notes that lie somewhere between Invictus and One Million.

Purple Oud is an amazing fragrance if you want to smell like Disinfectant or a Kitchen Cleaner product. It's honestly too aggressive for me, and there's something in there that triggers a faint nausea for me.An oud note as the main player seems overplayed but this is impressive and leans masculine but definitely unisex.
