Labels cover etc identifies as the 2016 Euro pressing apart from the matrix which is the same as the 2022 test pressing! If you open up Echo Farm, the first setting that comes up is the default setting, which overdrives the vocal a bit and sets an 84 ms delay. It changes a little bit on certain things, but it was a fairly consistent effect through the whole record.

We threw away everything [we were working on] and the only song that made the cut and remained was 'Mr. Hot Fuss is the debut studio album by American rock band the Killers, released on June 7, 2004, in the United Kingdom and on June 15, 2004, in the United States by Island Records. I played a whole side, switching between this lp and the cd, clinging to a hope that the vinyl would sound better, but I could detect no difference. Top-shelf mixing and attention to melody helps out the record's appeal as lifestyle music for sheltered bloggers and female professionals who still wear cool hairstyles. The album being pressed so quietly makes this worse, because turning the volume up just amplifies the crackle further.I have one of these (silver foil stamped cover) but the vinyl definitely is translucent blue-- the photos for this release make it look opaque. Hot Fuss floats boatloads of blasé lyrics about the pressures of being fabulous and the politics of fucking over an easily sippable blend of 80s and 90s British pop influences, rarely pausing to test the end product. Its relentless keyboard 'n' guitar racket shuns dourness altogether, as Flowers remarkably makes lines about a girlfriend getting off with some other guy resonate as some kind of weird triumph.

Hot Fuss opener "Jenny Was a Friend of Mine" establishes Flowers' admirable love for tones lost to rockers' rising fears of sounding too fruity. The long-player is very rare on LP and was only ever issued as a limited blue vinyl and a similarly limited seven-inch (black) vinyl box set. UO repressed this on translucent orange however the hype sticker states 'limited edition sky blue vinyl. My box set was bought used at Amoeba Records about 8 years ago with no warping and little to no scruffs.
