About this deal

As always, this Ben Miller book is a rich story of fantasy and adventure, and follows Lana and Harrison, staying with their grandparents, and a magical hollow tree. Does the book contain anything that teachers would wish to know about before recommending in class (strong language, sensitive topics etc. and I knew I’d done that and I did it for a specific reason because I thought the story would be best told by children of that age. Deliveries to destinations outside Australia are made by DHL courier, and cannot be made to post office boxes.

Lana is the younger of the two and she is very much into play and believing, whereas Harrison is just that more grown up as he’s a teenager. This may result in small marks to the dustjacket and title page, please also bear in mind that each signature will be a little different from the one we show here. Please Note: By their very nature, all signed books will have been handled several times before they get to you. When a kid picks up the book I want them not to be able to put it down, I want them to be chasing to the end of the story and really desperate to know what happens next. They both want to play on the old hollowed tree at their Grandparents area, but when some developers ask Lana if she wants to save the spiders that live there or have a big climbing frame. Some writing constructs to keep an eye out for are the author's astute use of similes and a rather enlightening embedded narrative. My favorite character is Elvis who is a really funny spider and decides to help the main character who is Lana from dying as she tries to save the other spiders. Please note that some countries may charge the recipient duties on the 'import' of parcels from time-to-time. I loved the fact they went on an adventure and I love that it was set in a wood and I loved the comedy. In comedy you listen carefully to the audience, the audience make you funny, so you really pay attention to them and you follow them and you end up having a lot of fun.

Although it is a good book, I feel it doesn't have the same thrill as the rest of the collection, bit it still is a great book! This was so speedy and yet so ungainly – like an ice-skating crocodile, it might be snappy but I wouldn’t bother getting too close. We’re thrilled to welcome to our blog comedian and author Ben Miller, whose latest book The Night We Got Stuck in a Story is out in paperback this week.

One night, an enchanted, golden thread wrapped around Lana's finger leads them through their favourite tree intro a magical land. And whilst I’m not about to go and stroke a spider, I think this book could do a lot to change their perspective, especially for children. she also made friends with a golden diving bell spider and I know golden diving bell spider witch,is not a thing and in this book, it’s even got a note about spiders which tells you that the golden diving bell spider is not a thing, but diving bell spider our. Two kids like climbing up inside the hollow tree near their grandparents’, but they can’t as it’s in a building site, although the building works might be put off by the fact some endangered spiders have been found there.

That night, a magical golden thread leads them up through the hollow of the tree into a storybook land, where wind and rain rage and a fearsome beast terrifies all who live there. Climb into the adventure of your dreams in the bestselling adventure from bestselling author, Ben Miller ! By bestselling author, comedian and beloved actor, Ben Miller, who brings you another magical and hilarious story that both adults and children will enjoy!

Then the thread is ensnaring a unicorn – just because – but the unicorn bamfs out of existence to be replaced by the baddy of the piece – just because, and she snatches the brother, but that’s OK, the girl can hear hunters approaching and they might help her find him, except then the talking bear comes along… It’s just so wilfully incoherent, to me.

I did enjoy the time when Lana transformed into a spider as the description of what spiders thought of humans and what it's like to be a spider but overall I didn't enjoy this book. There is a real hollow tree, not at Nana’s house, but near my house where I live in the countryside.
